I make music that's entirely found sound/sample based. It occurred to me that on every social media site (particularly Instagram) I would have thousands of saved posts because of some sound or visual content that I thought I might like to sample someday.I made Harvester, a local-first Firefox extension for collecting source material for sampling, collage, VJing, editing, and research. Harvester...
“During the exercise, [one]… ODA team identified a target building and used a remote access device (RAD) to identify the networks coming from the facility. They were able to crack the WiFi password, enumerate the network, and run exploits on the target computer inside the building,” according to an official Army news item. “This enabled the team to manipulate security cameras, door locks, and other security systems in the building.”

"Earlier today, in federal court in Brooklyn, an indictment was unsealed charging Eliahou Paldiel and Carlos Arturo Suarez Palacios (Suarez) with wire fraud and money laundering conspiracies relating to a wide-ranging scheme in which the defendants sold hacked smartphones and fraudulent applications to more than 800 rideshare drivers (Driver Co-conspirators). The applications enabled the Driver Co-conspirators to “spoof” GPS locations to fraudulently obtain “surge” fees and to otherwise manipulate legitimate rideshare applications to enrich themselves to the detriment of riders, law-abiding drivers and rideshare companies. If convicted, the defendants face up to 20 years in prison on each of the two counts."

You used to be able to Google for transaction information from a particular e commerce shopping cart and get .txts of credit card info, name, address. The wild west was wild.
I thought the same thing. It's unfortunate because the linked article is fine but I can't share it because of all of the other wacky nonsense.
I always talk about my time traveling and riding trains and going to antarctica in interviews. Most of the time it breaks up the monotonous interview process and allows me to stand out in the crowd.
I think it means you're dialed in just right.
My company wanted me to use the intuit TSheets app for clock in/out. This would do a similar thing with geofencing but would also notify me during times I wasn't at work that it was generating a geofence for my current location even though I wasn't even clocked in.
Told my manager I simply wouldn't use it and why and he gave me permission to use the webapp on the company issued laptops.
Last thing I need is my manager seeing me traversing the city drunk at 2am or whatever. I'm not on their time so whatever I'm doing is none of their business.
This was my thought as well. Plus this particular dc is massive and would require an absurd amount of c4 to destroy.
Shit, make em NFTs and make a fortune.
He had both a flower on his hand and the letters tattooed on his knuckles. Know More isn't a particularly common knuckle tattoo and to also have the same style of flower on the hand is definitely suspect.
Even that type of flower as a hand tattoo isn't very common.
Any plans to sell kits for us suckers who don't have 3d printers? I'd buy one right now.
Any plans to sell pre made kits of this? I'd love to get my girlfriend something like this but I don't have a 3d printer.
Most of the time this is referred to as a MAP agreement and companies can be real aggressive in enforcing them.
Those same relationships are apparent when reading a traditional score. Once you reach a certain level of proficiency reading music it's easy to spot the intervals which make up a chord as written. I don't think the same amount of proficiency isn't needed to interpret a piano roll, it's just proficiency in seeing the same relationships notated differently.
All that to say I think they're both conveying similar pitch information and take a similar amount of effort to ready correctly. Piano roll doesn't convey rhythmic information and that's where I think piano roll falls short as a method of straight notation.
This is great stuff. Accurate, succinct, well thought out. Nice job.
The Rosenfeld stuff is weird, man.
What is stopping someone from running signal on a dedicated burner if they're worried about it?
Different people have different threat models and I think asking for a phone number for the reasons posted above is acceptable for most people.
With all of the controversy (real or imagined) surrounding the recent elections I think the company who makes the voting machines having an open exploit like this is a bad look.
No one is saying they were hacked this way but it definitely can be used as fodder to bolster election fraud claims (real or imagined.)
I went and did a season at mcmurdo in 2011. Its an amazing place and anyone with any amount of adventuring in them should make an effort to go work a season. It's life changing.
The idea is that the amateur bands are a commons of sorts for everyone to use and enjoy. As somebody else said you're perfectly welcome to transmit encoded messages on nets designed for that.
My question is-
Looking at this dump, it appears to just be URLS. If the site doesn't exist anymore than the URLs point to nothing.
What's actually exposed? What am I missing here?
If they swap it daily/weekly/randomly/per event a counterfeiter would have to have every known variation on hand at the drop of a hat in order to reliably counterfeit it.
Could be something as simple as hook and loop tape. One side is permanently/semi-permanently affixed to the slide the other side gets swapped based on x criteria. That's how I'd do it. The military loves velcro.
Hope this dude found what he was looking for. I think a lot of people can see themselves in this story. The desire to walk off and be alone and sure potentially to just give up and die somewhere. If he really just sat down and decided to starve or was so deeply depressed as to be unable to see he was slowly dying he had some deep issues that we'll probably never know the extent of.
Any time something like this comes out it reminds me, especially during the holiday to season, to reach out intentionally to people I care about and make sure they know I've got their back.
Just last week I did some sleuthing and found out an old friend had been incarcerated for 15 years for a drink driving crash that killed someone. I knew his family life was a mess and even though we hadn't talked in 10+ years I wrote him a letter to let him know someone was at least thinking about him.
Whatever happened to this guy his story reminds us to take care of each other.
There are modern current examples of how decriminalization has positively affected countries where it's been tried. See Portugal where high school age students reported a massive drop in people trying the hard stuff for the first time, overdoses and new outbreaks of HIV and HEP C were drastically decreased, and money was spent on treatment and outreach rather than drug crackdowns which inevitably led some to get clean and others to lead more stable lifestyles.
I've never heard of cocaine going at $100/g even for really clean stuff. $60/g is much more realistic.
