Same. I hate paying Creative Suite, so during few hours I vibecoded Photoshop clone for myself in rust, with only the features I am using. Have been using it for the last 9 months, no problem. Super fast start, full PSD support, layers, texts etc.
I made super quick file sorter with it.. Works like a charm: https://github.com/ioma8/jeff-sort

I am in the same boat as you. I am using Luna and DeepSeek Flash. Both super fast, super cheap, and I have not felt need for anything more capable in few weeks.

Hi. I do not know OCaml. But wanted to learn it. With help of Claude Code I did this online interactive course. Runs WASM OCaml compiler in the browser to check your answers. Proven useful. Curious if any seasoned OCaml writers can point any issues in it.Here is gh repo which has the interactive course also in TUI variant: https://github.com/ioma8/ocaml-learn

Totally not the same. Its used as technical phrase. In europe we have many languages, but in most of them we use the term Tech lead as phrase.

Re:Apple will phase out Rosetta 2 in macOS 28 on Wednesday October 29, 2025 @07:14AM (#45745277)
Does this mean end to macOS wine gaming? From what I know you need to be using x86_64 build of wine on macos to run the x86 built windows games.
Re:A Dumb Introduction to z3 using Rust on Wednesday September 17, 2025 @06:04AM (#45273864)
Can you expand on that? What you mean by static python?
Didnt you think of making it open-source on github?
It works perfectly cool through wine. Also i think adding mac builds wouldnt be hard given its simple dependencies.

Re:Magic Lantern Is Back on Wednesday September 03, 2025 @03:51AM (#45113281)
Yes its truly noteworthy project. They exploited Canon cameras by first managing to blink red charging LED. Then they used the LED blinks to transmit the firmware out. Then they built custom firmware which boots right from SD (thus no posibility to break the camera). The Magic Lantern firmware for example allows many basic cameras to do RAW 4K video recording (with unlimited length) - feature which is not even in the high-end models. But it has much more features to tinker with.

Re:Ask HN: How do I learn practical electronic repair? on Tuesday June 03, 2025 @04:41AM (#44167801)
Watch a lotta NorthridgeFix youtube channel. He is excellent and leads you through his thought processes. Also get tons of hand ons experiences. Disassemble everyday things and try to figure out how they work / how to modify them. Remote controlls, routes, childrens toys, mobile phones.
Re:Plwm – An X11 window manager written in Prolog on Monday May 26, 2025 @04:08AM (#44095140)
I have to concur. Markus Triska is best Prolog resource out there nowaday. Extremely well explained, using modern notations etc.
Tried it on some webpages, doesnt work well.

This is really important point. Photos without people can be art. But photos with people capture memories. As a photographer I had to learn this with time and blurry, bad angled picture with favourite people capturing precious moment is zilions times more valuable (at least to me) than perfect picture of some architecture I took.
I would say exercise autonomy. As autonomy is strong evidence-based inner motivator. Also competence - still increasing their skills. More about self-determination theory: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-determination_theory
I would say rust. When you learn the basics, rust is very simple and will point to you any errors you have, so you get basically no runtime errors. Also the type system is extremely clean, making the code very readable.

But also C itself is very simple language. I do not mean C++, but pure C. I would probably start with this. Yes, you will crash at runtime errors, but besides that its very very simple language, which will give you good understanding of memory allocation, pointers etc.
