Crockford warns against ever using `with` in a talk he gave last year. Discussion on `with` at 19m58s: http://ontwik.com/javascript/douglas-crockford-javascript-pr...

Edit: He says it's not that `with` isn't useful, but that there is never a case where it isn't confusing.

Re:Hand Signals in NYC fine dining on Thursday October 13, 2011 @07:37PM (#3109265)
Agreed, I've noticed this type of signaling often in the hospitality industry. I'd compare it to a DSL with which a leader can communicate unobtrusively with those they lead. In certain cases it takes more time and effort to communicate information or instructions verbally, and it's more noticeable.
Hard to imagine how deafeningly loud it must be.

It seems to me that Homebrew is much more popular than Macports among rubyists. I would like to see actual data though.
Re:How many photos have ever been taken? on Thursday September 15, 2011 @04:10PM (#3001918)

Isn't Turner Broadcasting (http://www.turner.com/) the parent of CNN? Or am I missing some information?
