I think I have read somewhere that it refers to the "leaders" quadrant in Gartner's magic quadrant.

For a moment I thought it's something about Caldera Linux [1] :)

Re:Show HN: Virtual Reality DOS on Saturday May 16, 2020 @08:33AM (#23202875)
It's the only software I miss on Mac :) Using "Commander One" on Mac, but it's simply not on the same level.

While we're at it, what are people using as alternatives on Mac and Linux?

Yes, apparently that's how they're called :)

Norton Commander brings back memories. Started using it in DOS days and still use two-column file managers to this day.

Miners will want to cover the cost of mining, and to achieve that they will want to sell coins for higher price than they were selling it before for.

With quite a few exceptions you have to be aware of to avoid losing data during migrations.
No.

i5 or i7? How is the temperature? There are reports that Air has issues with overheating.
Re:New 13-inch MacBook Pro on Monday May 04, 2020 @10:56AM (#23068782)
I was so looking forward to the rumored 14-inch MBP, in which case I would have upgraded my MBP Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015.

Also, having no option for a keyboard with function keys on any MBP model anymore is just disappointing. Why are they so stubborn with that touchbar?!

I'm using VS Code and it does do that. It deletes back to the previous indentation level.

In the case when you move code around you will anyway go for Tab/Shift+Tab in any editor.

That's not really an argument. Every code editor can be configured to interpret the tab key as desired number of spaces.

I've started using Typora [1] recently. It's the best of both worlds.

> The company I've founded in 2007 never ever sent out any document in MS Office format, never owned any copy of MS Office, and we survived since then just fine.

It's great that it worked out for you, but that's just not the case in the most business environments I have been dealing with. When a person sends out a document to a customer, and it turns out that customer didn't see the content as intended, alternatives get deleted and MS Office gets reintroduced.

Just to be clear, I'm not a proponent of MS Office. As a matter of fact I run on Mac and Linux and don't have much touching points with Windows, but MS Office is simply a necessity in most business environments.

Exactly. The last coherent release of Windows was 7. From that point on it was only downhill.
