Re:Write code like a human will maintain it on Friday July 10, 2026 @10:10AM (#48860199)
And hope it works?

I’m pretty sure many people who use AI to write emails or blog posts add "make it sound like a human wrote it" to their prompts. We all know what the result usually looks like.

If AI is writing my code, I'd rather have it focus purely on correctness and efficiency than on making the code easy to read.

heck! I might even ask it to imitate Arthur Whitney’s style.

Re:SpaceX Is Buying Cursor on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @09:03AM (#48554659)
Yes. Do the heavy lifting in Claude code , Codex.

Basic tasks in cursor. It's decent and damn fast.

All my team members also use it.

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (June 2026) on Sunday June 14, 2026 @01:45PM (#48530274)
I’m working on "Fetch", a native macOS client for ClickHouse.

The idea is to make querying ClickHouse feel more like using a polished desktop with ClickHouse native features :

It’s built in Swift/SwiftUI with Monaco as the SQL editor.

lol, what does it mean ?
how is autocomplete implemented ?

Re:We've raised $17M to build what comes after Git on Friday April 10, 2026 @02:06PM (#47721667)
this is bad developer UX ( in my opinion). Please reconsider . I lost interest the moment I was not able to commit using normal git commands.

  ⎿ Error: Exit code 1

GITBUTLER_ERROR: Cannot commit directly to gitbutler/workspace branch.

GitButler manages commits on this branch. Please use GitButler to commit your changes:
       - Use the GitButler app to create commits
       - Or run 'but commit' from the command line

If you want to exit GitButler mode and use normal git:
       - Run 'but teardown' to switch to a regular branch
     … +5 lines (ctrl+o to see all)

but was not installed ( I installed the mac app ) .

I still haven't uninstalled the app and will try to figure out the working model.

Also please offer some skill file or a text I can add to my CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md so that when I ask claude to commit , it will go through gitbutler...( edit: looks like it is there, but the discovery is hard ) .

Re:So where are all the AI apps? on Tuesday March 24, 2026 @10:54AM (#47503551)
Agree. I’ve also noticed that feature creep tends to increase when AI is writing most of the code.
Re:Agentic Software Engineering Book on Monday February 23, 2026 @12:38AM (#47118520)
Book ends with "There’s a fundamental truth about this transformation that no book can fully convey: work- ing with AI teammates is something you must experience to understand"
can it be integrated in monaco editor ?
it created this video for an app I am working on. https://video.golpoai.com/share/8de80271-1109-48e4-ac52-9265...
Re:Switching Pip to Uv in a Dockerized Flask / Django App on Tuesday June 24, 2025 @09:06AM (#44365798)
UV just works. Easily one of the best things to happen to Python packaging in years.

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (April 2025) on Monday April 28, 2025 @10:21AM (#43821813)
Shipped a new programmatic ads debugging tool https://floors-check.mile.so/ .

It has these capabilities for now : - Prebid flooring insights ( uses an LLM to generate a summary )

- screenshot at various times

- real time console logs

- Prebid detection

Re:I've been using Claude Code for a couple of days on Monday March 10, 2025 @08:16AM (#43319764)
I tried Claude Code and gave it very clear instructions to build a web based tool I wanted to build over the weekend. It did exactly that ! sure, there were some minor modifications I had to make, but it completed over 80% of the work for me.

As for the app itself, it included a simple UI built on React with custom styling and real-time support using WSS . I provided it with my brand colors and asked it to use chadcn. It also includes a Node.js-based backend with socket.io and puppeteer. I even asked it to generate a Dockerfile and Kubernetes manifests. It almost did a perfect job—the only thing I had to fix manually was updating my Ingress to support WSS.

After studying the K8s manifests, I learned a bunch of new things as well.. spent around $6 for this session and I felt that it was worth it.

Re:Elasticsearch Was Great, but Vector Databases Are the Future on Tuesday November 19, 2024 @09:06PM (#42190191)
ES can handle vector search quite well. I have used it in prod and it's scaled well too.
Re:Winamp Legacy player source code on Tuesday September 24, 2024 @01:53PM (#41639147)
Cursor can do it.
Yeah with the added advantage of reduced latency. The system I worked on had a CRUD application which was in Django , ultimately the rules was stored in a Redis.. The ad serving application was in golang that connected to this local redis instances that were replicas of the central redis..

https://redis.io/docs/latest/commands/replicaof/

well, redis manages the replication without fuss. Unless the framework / language one uses supports it out of the box, there is no point in re implementing replication.

https://www.erlang.org/docs/17/reference_manual/distributed

I tried a similar approach with a team I was working with. We were building it on top of redis and after some basic benchmarks gave up the idea and figured out from the docs that that eval script is blocking.
