Kinda useful but there are some things missing/broken, is this open source? are you accepting PRs?
Re:Ask HN: How can I make classes taught over Zoom fun? on Friday June 24, 2022 @12:16AM (#31857751)
Try https://www.baamboozle.com/ remote learning teachers use it to make learning games and share their screen. And there's already lots of good content on it.
This is definitely human-level quality. In fact, the synthesized versions pronounce some words better than human. Kudos to MSFT! I think they've been longest in the game too...

edit; is the Nuance acquisition compounding yet?

This HAS to be a joke right?

This is so true to the T.
Re:Show HN: AskNoam.com – Ask Noam Chomsky Anything on Monday November 22, 2021 @12:17AM (#29303027)
It doesn't work, typed in a few questions and i get no results.
Exactly... most technical folk have no idea the kind of deep expertise MSFT has in selling software. Its why they are catching up to AWS. Its why they killed slack within a year. MSFT and Salesforce have the best biz ops and sales people to sell software and that itself is a huge overlooked moat that would probably take a decade to fully disrupt.
Re:AWS is playing chess, Cloudflare is playing Go on Monday October 18, 2021 @08:55PM (#28913742)
Wait can you please elaborate more? I have a site that gets a ton of traffic and my biggest bill is AWS cloudfront bandwidth... how can i reduce this using cloudflare?
Re:Compare AWS and Azure Services to Google Cloud on Tuesday March 23, 2021 @11:36PM (#26563304)
The title of this post implies otherwise: Compare AWS and Azure Services to Google Cloud
Re:Compare AWS and Azure Services to Google Cloud on Tuesday March 23, 2021 @10:57PM (#26563067)
This list is biased, its missing Azure products like Azure Data Explorer, of which AWS/GCP has no alternative (afaik).
Re:The Economics of Christmas Trees on Sunday December 06, 2020 @09:01PM (#25328660)
Agreed... i don't understand why anyone would be in this business...
Re:Show HN: Benefits comparison across tech companies on Friday June 12, 2020 @11:57PM (#23506622)
Also only MSFT offers ESPP which is a guaranteed free $1500 cash a year if not more (i got 2500)...
Re:I Spent $6M on Google Ads Last Year on Monday April 27, 2020 @03:27PM (#22999072)
Can you give more insight on what you mean by one should not be using daily budget? What should we be using then?

Its a metabase visualization thing...

While i agree with a lot of your response. I also concede that regulatory capture is a serious innovation inhibitor that has a factor in some of your questions re: reactors, 3 days to wire money, etc. The incumbents have gotten too comfortable and lobbied well enough to protect themselves.

Then you also have the current bailouts of airlines, etc. So the incumbents in this case are too big to fail. You'll never get new entrants/innovators in these areas until those issues are solved.

Re:Dwellito Mini Office on Thursday April 09, 2020 @01:28PM (#22824993)
Awesome job mate! What about tools? how much did it cost to acrew all the tools needed to cut/etc.? And what tools does one need to get started?
A lot of these types of posts about B2B assume you are selling a product >$1k... there are lots of B2B that are for less than that and so you can't really apply most of these approaches.
Are Github Actions out of beta? I haven't heard any updates about them but i seems its an abandoned feature??
Re:Show HN: SkyAlt – Accessible database and analytics on Sunday February 02, 2020 @10:09AM (#22217222)
Correct metabase is readonly. And i think thats a good thing. For BI tools such as these you have many types of users and generally want it to be strictly readonly.
Didn't know this, pretty crazy hire... what's the reasoning behind that. Maybe they were desperate as the vmware founder wanted to retire and they needed to fill in the seat quickly?
While AWS has a strong #1 offering in low-hanging fruit products like vms, dbs. I find they have terrible MVP-like execution on niche offerings (and support sucks too) for things like Fargate, K8s, one-off job execution. Azure has a stronger, more thoughtful offering in niche solutions.
Not to knockdown the project, great effort. But there are many existing solutions like metabase, redash, etc. What differentiates this?
Correct me if i'm wrong but TLH is only good for long term positions (>1 year)?
Great way to convey a dense topic! Thanks for sharing!
Re:Show HN: Automated Artificial Intelligence with Spreadsheets on Wednesday December 04, 2019 @07:01PM (#21708512)
So basically what AWS just launched? AutoML/Autopilot?

OP seems to churn out a lot of these basic 'apps' and shutter them after a few months...

I once heard of a site called github that is a repository of sort... or code... lots of it.
Re:Show HN: A remote browser product, open-sourced on Monday November 18, 2019 @12:07AM (#21562046)
