I'm still amazed that 37, 73, and other numbers ending in 7 are the most popular "random" choices for both AI and human. Check this Veritasium video for human choice: [Why is this number everywhere?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6iQrh2TK98)
Re:No Country Ever Got Rich from Tourism on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @05:19PM (#44653123)
> many countries highly dependent on tourism remain very poor. Jamaica, Bali, the Maldives, and Fiji are globally recognizable, name-brand destinations that are as or even more dependent on tourism than Southern Europe. All four are also unenviably poor by European standards, despite having small or even tiny populations to share in the incoming tourism money.

The post makes some valid points; however, Bali is not a country but a province of Indonesia with a population exceeding 4.5 million. Additionally, its economy is diversified beyond tourism.

For users who will miss custom filtering in uBlock Origin, AdGuard supports custom filtering and is compatible with Manifest V3. Custom filter lists from uBlock Origin can be imported into AdGuard. However, AdGuard lacks the element picker function.
[PDFgear](https://www.pdfgear.com/) has LLM integrated, it is currently free.

Re:Show HN: Reader Mode, but better on Wednesday November 23, 2022 @11:16PM (#33727736)
This is great. Could you add context menu to go reader mode directly from a link? This will be great for accompanying HN.
Re:Show HN: MockMechanics is now open source on Wednesday September 28, 2022 @06:48PM (#33014205)
This is really great. Is MockMechanics parametric, i.e. we can control the object size and movement using script?
Re:gping: Ping, but with a graph on Saturday November 14, 2020 @08:08AM (#25092079)
A great project Brendan. But as stated in Github issues, it is not worked on newer version of Go. I'm trying in Windows 10 and get error which look like:

`Error: 'date-time' main.go:59: open C:\Program Files Direct\duck\pings.json: The system cannot find the file specified.`

`not supported by windows. Request timeout for icmp_seq xx`

Wow, this is great. Definitely will try.
Re:Show HN: Hacker News and Reddit comments everywhere on Monday August 24, 2020 @09:57AM (#24260670)
Love this. Is it possible to add link submission to Reddit or HN? Especially when we know that the link is not in them already.
A very comprehensive and frequently updated list is here: https://www.exploit-db.com/google-hacking-database
For me, markdown will be a great option. Since it would help for deveolping research or blog notes.

Is there any open source application alternative for opinion polling?
