I'm the author of "Runet Censorship Bypass". We help Russians to circumvent state censorship while with some tricks the extension may also be used to bypass private discrimination or sanctions-based censorship.

We received no notifications about this restriction. Waiting for the official statement or just any comment from Mozilla.

1) Open https://www.youtube.com. 2) Hover one of the videos. 3) See it's enlarging and playing without audio but with transcriptions.

So, for the main page (and recommendations) of YT it's already done. How your idea is different from this?

Stripes isn't available in some countries (Russia, e.g.). Does it mean your stripe-based solution can't be used in these unlucky countries?

You may take a look at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24380969 or https://github.com/snori74/linuxupskillchallenge.

I haven't passed this course myself because it seems too basic for me.

UPDATE: our extension was restored in the WebStore after some letters, publications and discussions.
I've actually found a workaround in the extensions API -- bypassing the script via `data` field instead of an url doesn't have 1MB restriction. The reason we compress the script is that it is used not only inside this extension but also in settings of other browsers/OSes (e.g. Internet Explorer, Windows system settings, chromium CLI flag `--proxy-pac-url`).
The PAC-script being minified in our case is generated outside of the extension to make the extension less resource-consuming. PAC-script is regenerated and updated several times per day. However we may release sources for the generator, actually the old version of it was published in 2018 at [1].

Why was this thread flagged? A misleading thread title?

I believe this regime won't miss a chance to pwn the Russians for their own money, so they will try to parasite on a patriotic proprietary system pushed by taxes or laws.
I see no hatred in his comment, sex-driven guy just spoke out his mind.

Does this make implementation of other language compiled for V8 easier?
