And it's back online...
It seems it already exists!

So it's designed for the classroom, but I don't see why it couldn't work here.

One minor nitpick: make the input where you type the link more obvious. There's no indication that it's the input, and it just looks like a heading
Don't the Falcon wing doors open without power? https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/downloads/2016_Mod... (page 26)
That's part of the point! I did intentionally try to design it similarly to a real cookie consent banner.

It just goes to show how ineffective they are if people just click without even reading them.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll definitely look into it.
Thanks for the feedback!

I created an issue on GitHub: https://github.com/rockhopper72/no-cookie/issues/1

Hey HN, creator here. I made this satirical project for me to learn how to make NPM modules and my goal was to release it in one day. It’s not for serious use. The code isn’t great. Like I said, I’m still learning.

Here’s the GitHub: https://github.com/rockhopper72/no-cookie Pull requests welcome.

Thanks!

Congrats on posting! I like how simple it is, but still gets the job done.

And their lack of customer support solves the social engineering problem too.
Re:Show HN: New Gmail Loading Logo on Friday April 27, 2018 @02:05PM (#16942863)
I like the logo. However the striped background hurts my eyes. This is a fork without it: https://codepen.io/rockhopper72/full/KRNevm/

Edit: nevermind, it's gone

Re:7 Year Old Girl Has Amputated Leg Reattached Backwards on Friday April 27, 2018 @02:01PM (#16942827)
Kind of misleading title. It wasn't a mistake. It was done "...to allow the ankle joint to work as a knee joint."
Similarly, couldn't an attacker visit a page with lots of Pay-Per-View ads (with whom he/she profits off of)?
Re:Credit card fraud warning signs on Friday April 27, 2018 @01:41PM (#16942658)
I like how the author doesn't immediately reject orders if they have just one sign (IP address country different from shipping country, shipping to a reshipping center, etc.) but looks at all the indicators as a whole to make a decision.

Edit: isn't this how Stripe Radar[1] works?

Theoretically, once something is updated all you would have to do is check the diff. Still tedious though.
Re:The Secret to Better Social Media? Fewer Friends on Saturday April 14, 2018 @06:50PM (#16840024)
This is one thing I think Google+ got right. I can have different types of “friends”, each in their own categories, such as “sharaholic” or “meme poster” and only visit those circles occasionally.

The only problem is the unpopularity of G+.

Re:Tesla Was Kicked Off Fatal Crash Probe by NTSB on Thursday April 12, 2018 @04:09PM (#16824498)
I know nothing about aviation, but isn’t “autopilot” on a commercial plane pretty much just “maintain altitude and heading”? Pilots still have to be engaged and active, right?
