"educate them what ever I learn" here I meant just making them aware about what is latest going on I am not pushing for that, instead I push them to learn about stuff which will be useful in near future.

Well this may sound very familiar to most of HN but it also makes it the best place to ask this question. Background: I am a project lead in a Digital Media company and I am taking care of the engineering aspect of our products. I only get a chance to pair code with my team and hardly get any alone coding time apart from few R&D And POC work. I have some 7 years of core development...
Agreed. MBA just helped me a bit, but I guess most of my career is a result of coding & sitting with fellow programmers spending nights and learning vudu tricks.
Well I am an MBA(IT)[+ Mechanical Engg.], and right now I am managing some 15+ people engg team. I can very confidently say that being an MBA has helped me a lot. It gave me an insight in being a leader and made my job of managing a engineering team easy.
However I started my career as developer and have spent 7+ years in developing complex systems. The one difference I could always notice was leadership/initiative distinction between me and other developers and I used to think why these guys are not able to manage their time and guide their juniors. Simply they were not able to think beyond code(I am not generalising but the pattern I noticed with obvious exceptions).
Does it affect location apis or places auto complete apis as well?

I have been planning to use polymer for next project for frontend and rails on server. I have read the article posted here https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7970781 I am still noticing that polymer is slow on FF,Safari etc(almost freezes for 2 secs). However works great on chrome.Project would be mobile first web app(or may be mobile only). I am also considering Phonegap along with polymer....
I am surprised to see, that people are not able to redirect it to some decent maintenance page. What could have gone wrong at tech?
True. They seems helpless.
Down again. For sure someone is playing with it.
If I am not wrong then there was a townhall meeting going on @ Mumbai headquarters when it all happened.
BTW! It went down at around 4:15PM IST and came backup at 4:35PM IST for couple of minutes. After that same story.
Recent events @ housing.com look like a movie.
Is this the maintenance page or has it been hacked?

I did not quite understand "3.981 times stronger (energy release)", but god bless everyone.
Aftershocks felt, there were at least 2. I ll call them major ones. I was sitting on 4th floor. It felt very strong.

If you look at myntra.com or flipkart.com they have completely shutdown their mobile website. Why is that? Are they not able to maintain it? (They just got huge funding)Is mobile web dying? (hyperbol)In any case most of big companies promote their apps not the mobile web, what HN thinks about it?

Context: Software developmentRecently I have been offered a Job as Technical Lead in one of the growing indian startup. Work is good along with nice pay. But they work on Saturdays as well. Mostly in India or anywhere else it is always 5 days working not 6.I am more of a 5 day guy as 2 days off(sat & sunday) gives me enough time to think about problems/solutions and relax? What does HN think...
