It's on Azure also, here is their announcement: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/gpt-6-astra-frontier-...

Although I was also surprised they didn't have some type of contractual obligation to list that alongside AWS.

This should probably change to https://openai.com/index/scaling-ai-for-everyone/ which has more details.

> Today we’re announcing $110B in new investment at a $730B pre-money valuation. This includes $30B from SoftBank, $30B from NVIDIA, and $50B from Amazon.

Github copilot has support for this stuff as well. Agent skills, background/subagents, etc.

I guess the tokens are cheap enough or their pockets are deep enough, but this still seems surprising. I guess they can chalk it up to a marketing cost.

Have you tried Everything by Voidtools? I’m curious how these tools compare with that. I like how fast and simple it is.

I haven't checked in on it recently, but maybe a similar open-source option would be https://github.com/All-Hands-AI/OpenHands

A not open-source option this looks close to is also https://githubnext.com/projects/copilot-workspace (released April 2024, but I'm not sure it's gotten any significant updates since)

Looks like this was timed to coincide with Google adding search grounding data to Gemini API: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42008834 // https://developers.googleblog.com/en/gemini-api-and-ai-studi...

I know there is a HN guideline about not commenting on stuff like this, but in this case the text was so large it prevented me from wanting to read the article at all. Just uncomfortably large.
What’s the technical difference in how this works vs. previous face swapping tech (like Snapchat filters)?

Yes, I played around with Skyvern and it works really well!

https://www.skyvern.com/

https://github.com/Skyvern-AI/Skyvern

I created a bit.ly link that points to http://yourpiholehost/admin/api.php?disable=300&auth=api_key

Bookmark it for myself and other people in the house and then turn it off for five mins whenever there is an issue.

I think Paypal's micropayment option[1] doesn't have a ton of competition, but at 4.99% + 9 cents you will do a lot better than typical stripe rate.

> Usually about 75 per cent of all gym memberships are taken out in the month of January.

That's a pretty wild claim to include without a source...

I googled it and found a source that said 12% of signups in January compared to average 8% the rest of the year which sounds a lot more realistic. [1]

Re:Llama 2 – Meta AI on Tuesday July 18, 2023 @12:46PM (#36775444)
The paper[1] says this in the conclusion:

> [Llama 2] models have demonstrated their competitiveness with existing open-source chat models, as well as competency that is equivalent to some proprietary models on evaluation sets we examined, although they still lag behind other models like GPT-4.

It also seems like they used GPT-4 to measure the quality of responses which says something as well.

Can you give some examples of things you don’t like about Azure UI/UX or Azure docs?
> They had Bing running in the background for years losing truckloads of money.

Maybe a nitpick, but I think Bing has been profitable on its own for a while now.

Re:Show HN: GPT-4-powered web searches for developers on Wednesday April 12, 2023 @02:42PM (#35544685)
This worked well for the one sample query I tried. Running unlimited GPT-4 API calls (plus search API calls maybe?) for people sounds expensive.

What is your monetization strategy for this tool?

So, they don't. But if you do require verification, using an employee email address is probably the only realistic option.

Re:Stripe Financial Connections on Wednesday May 04, 2022 @12:25PM (#31262615)
From https://stripe.com/docs/financial-connections/fundamentals#h...

> With the authentication flow, your user logs into their bank either through an OAuth (bank-hosted) or non-OAuth flow to authenticate access to their accounts.

> Stripe generally defaults the authentication flow to OAuth if available at the financial institution. Your integration doesn’t need to treat OAuth accounts differently than non-OAuth accounts.

Re:Gitpod shipped GitHub a launch cake for Codespaces on Friday September 03, 2021 @05:03PM (#28409382)
The page title says "Page Not Found" which would make you think it's a 404, the page body says "500 Oh, no! Something went wrong on our side." But the actual HTTP response is 200 OK.

The entire /blog section has a flash of content and then is replaced with the error message. If you view the source, you can still find the content.

Oh, but if I turn off uBlock Origin and the analytics.js and newsletter-signup.js/css are allowed to load then the page loads fine. Interesting!

Re:Screw You, Microsoft Edge on Sunday August 08, 2021 @05:56PM (#28110487)
Would you have had a different reaction if the author was on Walmart and Edge surfaced a link to a cheaper product at an independent retailer?
The lawsuit mentions that page scraping is against their TOS [1]. This seems like a potentially similar lawsuit to the LinkedIn data scraping suit.

I’ve never had much luck myself searching on skiplagged, but I think it’s interesting how the process works and how against it the airlines are.
