There are confirmed DNA analysis that Covid has HIV fragments. You can search that. Vast majority of this info from medical communities have been actively surpress to the point any researchers mentioning it will be "censored". I recalled both India and Thailand researchers made those discoveries early last year. But all mainstream media very strangely suppress it.
Re:Did America just lose Afghanistan because of WhatsApp? on Saturday August 21, 2021 @11:08PM (#28262533)
The correct strategy is not to conquer but to cull. From time to time, US should just send military in to render to site as vast land of death and pity-ness say under a week. Repeat this periodically over 50 years. No forces on earth would be able to sustain that even if Russian and Chinese combine forces. Sharp and devastating destruction played over years is extremely effective and much affordable than the current Afghan and Iraq 2 decades of debacles.
Pro-vaxxer will not answer your original question. The fact is it is not incredibly effective now as Pfizer and Moderna effectiveness have drop to 70%+ and 40%+ respectively from their earlier 95%. 60% are hospitalize that means it is severe that warrant hospitalization. If it is incredibly effective, "hospitalization" for vaccinated should be under a few percentage point. Take a look at historical smallpox and polio vaccination. Now that is incredible effective. Vast majority of pro-vaxxer aren't aware of old stats, while predominantly getting over excited by media outlet or their less informed doctors acquintances. To be fair, those vaccines originally targeting earlier variant of Covid. Now you have Delta, likely Delta+ and Lambda or some more deadlier version of variants, the vaccine can only go down in effectiveness in coming 6mths. In fact, you should be hearing people getting those vaccines died due to immunity waning in coming 6mths. Expect booster shots and annual jabs just like flu shots.
Re:United Airlines bans duct tape restraints on Wednesday August 18, 2021 @10:15PM (#28229595)
Now that duct tape is not allowed, choking is a valid option. Blame it on the airline for exposing the unruly kids to worse off option of restraining. We are post 9-11. There are children in some conflict-torn regions that kill and rape more than the worse serial killers in America.
Re:Afghanistan: Taliban to reap $1T mineral wealth on Wednesday August 18, 2021 @10:10PM (#28229558)
Two can play the sabotage game. The downfall of western-backed Afghan government is mostly due to the backing of regional countries for Taleban. Now that the table has flip, you can be sure CIA will be doing the same. Not everyone that hates the western countries there are Taleban. Remember there is a saying that muslim tribalism hates among themselves more than anything else. Expect terrorism to spread into China now that they getting involve. The whole debacle could really be setting up for downfall of the middle kingdom. Good for USA not to touch that cursed land. Feel pity for the fools that blinded by that cursed mines.
Re:Moderna Is About to Begin Trials for HIV Vaccine on Tuesday August 17, 2021 @01:55PM (#28212806)
At current stage, covid vaccines are mainly to reduce severity of infections with significant reduction in mortality. It doesn't really reduce spread of infections. Research has shown vaccinated individuals at least the same amount of load as unvacccinated. The general sayings of herd immunity with vaccinations can protect those unable to get vaccines don't apply for this situation. In fact, it will pretty much condemn those who don't get vaccinated when vast majority have been vaccinated and actively spread the infections.
Re:Firefox 91 on Thursday August 12, 2021 @05:52AM (#28154201)
They not just lost a few hundred Ks of users, they lost a huge chunk of evangelist. And worst than that, turning into anti-evangelist. I am that and so do many of my colleagues. I believe this is a trend though not many people willing to mention it. So seeing firefox dropped significant market share since 2017-ish to some reflect what we anti-evangelist are doing "unconsciously". This is what happen when the company decide to go with some smart-alec UI/UX designers that didn't do much market feedback but trusting their own instinct. Probably Jonny Ives wanna be.
If you read finish, he basically proved to host it outside USA or any 5eyes. Hacking is way more difficult than pushing a button. This is why FBI insist a backdoor key for phone manufacturers.
Maybe the old ways of threathening and assassinations might motivate these judges to behave.
Re:Overly Attached Girlfriend NFT Sells for $411,000 on Monday April 05, 2021 @08:00AM (#26697877)
Exchange to conventional money like USD and Yen. These can be made illegal. USA has precedent for doing this with gold when it threaten their money supply creation ability. If there is no legal ways to convert all these digital coins to fiat currencies, their value will collapse to niche market valuation. It won't disappear completely, just enough to make it small like say total market valuations for baseball or pokemon card collections. Bitcoin technology depends on 1 fundamental flaw that is exponentially increasing demand on energy to hash. Essentially it is inflation of "energy money" to "digital money" for hashing "nothing". The demand is not triggered from population itself but the #1 increasing tech capability, and #2 algorithm itself that double the difficulties of hashing rate. Think of demand of toilet paper, that people need to buy not because they need it but the toilet consume more at a doubling rate whether you poop or not. And then itself become valuable when your neighbor willing to change it for fiat currencies. The moment government make it illegals, the value drop. Black market will exist but then law enforcers specializing to catch "digital exchange criminals" will be established.
Also primary for me, and probably a couple hundreds if counting my colleagues and their families and my close friends and their families and of course my families. Huge proportions of them using iOS. So I concur with previous reply. Don't get too fixated with market share. Apple isn't that niche if you include tablets and phones.
Re:Libreboot – Defend Richard Stallman on Wednesday March 31, 2021 @08:31PM (#26655204)
I know a lot of people that defend RMS and fully agreed with OP. I know a lot of people who don't care that much. As for your final conclusion that "if not you're enemy" I don't fully agreed with. You can be indifferent too. Not a single person that dislike RMS I know of can prove that he committed a crime. The dislikes are purely based on opinionated statements which is part and parcel of free speech. Showed me he committed something bad rather than "oh my feeling hurt because he said something not nice so he must be purged". I classified these kind of outraged people as snowflakes. Yeah, what a load of trash flakes.
Re:The FSF unionised because of RMS on Wednesday March 31, 2021 @08:21PM (#26655107)
Snowflakes. IT sector have quite a lot snowflakes. And since they have access to media outlets much more readily then most other workers, their voices are amplified. They are free to work in any other companies given the skillsets they have. They chose to be there and chose to embrace the conditions there. Suddenly they want to unionised because their feelings hurt when they could have done so years ago. Their "bad treatments" are light years milder than what others had to endure.
Fully agreed. Unfortunately, being snowflakes and snowflaking because their feelings are hurt blindsided them to what matters. They are a lot of them.
PC you use to transact is physical too. Your Internet can also be traced. In China, accessing wiki gets you prison time even though the users use VPN. Graphics cards for mining can be taxed very high. Kiddy porn is a better example here instead of drugs. You could be walking around with trillions usd in the form of diamonds. And yet if you're in a desert you are likely not able to use it and die of thirst. In everyday live you need liquidity. Governments ensure liquidity legally. Crypto can't. At best it is like rare baseball cards collections that you need to specifically find buyers that willing to pay for it through specialized locations (which governments can control). Pro cypto arguments are out of touch with realities. They basically banging on government will accept it. It is basically like hoping Myanmar will back off after seeing protestor. In general direct firing to kill should be expected and proven to work. Expecting government to give the ability to print money is very naive.
Re:Academic media censorship conference censored by YouTube? on Tuesday February 02, 2021 @07:26PM (#26009059)
Google censorship is more equal than other possibilities. They themselves have committed a lot lately compare to say owner did it. Purely based on perception, without any proof, I say your last statement is unlikely.
Re:Why did renewables become so cheap so fast? on Friday December 04, 2020 @08:37AM (#25302075)
You making an assumption UAE will never dip their hand into their golden goose. Money come and go. Just go ask Rothschild and Rockefeller when they had wealth beyond imagination back then. I wouldn't put too much faith in SWF. Nokia gone. Lehman gone. They take along a lot of billionaire money too. So SWF will have to be incredibily lucky like Buffet to keep their wealth. Let just say in 50 years, it will be very different than what you praised about SWF today.
Sounds like communism. It has failed in China and USSR when they abolished the landlords. And now they revive landlords and fully embraced capitalism. I guess they did it wrong. We can do it better this time. Make Karl Great Again.
Re:Benford's “law” does not detect voting fraud on Friday November 20, 2020 @06:35AM (#25159478)
Fraud happened. I suggest you go find those published affidavits for the current courts cases pending. I bet you didn't read ANY of those affidavits before you come to the conclusion of "he can't accept lost". Read it and then conclude he lost or maybe just maybe you have been in the bubble? Another confirmed news that don't trend in your usual news outlets are the servers retrieved from Germany. I let you do some home work rather than I dish you all the proves. You need to learn how to research and not just what FB or CCN tells you.
You have to looks things in perspective. He did way better in almost every metrics as compare to neighboring countries. Show me which EU countries did better in Covid. I would like to see your benchmark.
Re:Twitter backs down and unlocks NY Post account on Monday November 02, 2020 @10:41PM (#24976083)
Just do away 230. Let them become gawker. There is already mechanism in place to regulate them. FB and Tweeter will easily lose at least 100 billions in 1 year when lacking 230 protection. That will automatically motivate them to behave properly.
Re:Jack Dorsey: Twitter has no influence over elections on Friday October 30, 2020 @09:36AM (#24942024)
He is saying that to avoid 230. 2nd term will see many of them getting declared as publisher. It will be open season lawsuits.
Ford did something similar in Brazil many decades ago. Google too with its massive book scanning many years ago. I think it is more of incompetence and gutsy "let's try" like a bridge to nowhere hoping dumb luck to happen. Yahoo's investment in Alibaba is a good example. No one would say Yahoo has incredible Buffet-level-competent team knowing Alibaba is great investment prior.
Re:The Nobel Peace Prize 2020 on Saturday October 10, 2020 @05:37AM (#24737759)
...the prize for not being Bush. It is more like Nobel board hoping to influence him "to" not being Bush. Unfortunately he did, destroying Libya and Syria. He also bomb hospital, killing children. So much for Peace prize. And coming soon next year the full unveiling of Obamagate with the full release of the investigations.
Labor is just another commodity. Its pricing (pay) is govern by law of demand and supply. There is no minimum wage. If there is, market will adjust to adapt to it. This is why EU has predominantly high unemployment vs say China or other parts of the world that don't practice minimum wage. You can even observe this is happening in states that practice and don't. Good luck with Cali and NYC. You can see a lot of business exodus there. Market is adjusting. Focus on increasing demand for labor (more jobs), their wage will automatically go up. Retrain the workers to fit into another market, hence reducing the supply of their existing market, those that remain, wage will go up. Build the wall with strong border reducing illegals, wage will go up. Invoke forced minimum wage, market will readjust reducing demand and increasing unemployment to justify wage to go up. All the pro minimum wage studies are flawed. You just have to check how Singapore did it. No minimum wage there.
Why would a single person like moderator allows to choose what I can hear or not? Muting should be my choice not someone determining what I can hear or not? The debate was not even between candidate. It was the worst presidential debate moderation ever. It looks as if Chris is running as Democratic candidate.
Restricting supplies of doctors.
Nope. Only specific instances. And in this case POTUS has the power when it comes to foreign entities. It is enshrined in the constitutions. By the way, India and China are even doing this without even a single judicial recourse. USA simply is the best country that has been setup to allow and disallow this kind of things some hundreds years ago.
Re:LibreOffice 7.1 on Saturday September 26, 2020 @10:19PM (#24603686)
Yeah. I paid subscription for that even though using linux...vm Windows. The fixed yourself is a common reply when complaining about the free tools.....though to be precise, usually it is polite and phrased as "...contribute to the project...". This is so common, it is very well understood among general public that is tech savvy but not at programmers level, no example need to be shown. A mere quick mention/reference is more than enough.
