Re:How we secure Monzo's banking platform on Monday April 04, 2022 @08:36AM (#30905901)
I had a similar experience, not crypto-related.

My employer paid me a couple of grand in expenses, which I quickly moved to another account. That triggered an account freeze.

I asked the customer service rep for "why" - couldn't tell me. They then asked me for payslips to prove my story. I told them feck off because they could see the monthly entries marked "Salary" from the same source.

I escalated the matter and it took several hours before my account was unfrozen.

Lesson: only keep a minimum amount of money in UK bank accounts.

TLDR
Sharing my Raspberry Pi-based satoshi-stacking script. It wakes up at 5am each day and buys me some Bitcoin before I wake up.
Re:France and Germany Agree to Block Facebook's Libra on Saturday September 14, 2019 @10:22AM (#20970940)
Very simple. Facebook is a company. You can legislate laws that determine what companies are allowed to do and what they are not allowed to do. Particularly if it concerns financial instruments.

A "ban" doesn't need to be technological.

ORMs are for suckers. DB Drivers are for suckers. I interact directly with the port 3306. ;-)
Re:Rats 'wrongly blamed' for 1900 Glasgow plague outbreak on Saturday January 05, 2019 @05:51AM (#18831021)
This means the rats will seek an official apology from the current government and possibly financial restitution.
+1 to the Lamy 2000. It’s a glorious timeless classic. It’s like a Porsche, useable as an everyday workhorse.
I’ve got both and they’re both excellent workhorses. I use Lamy mostly with Twsbi as alternatives for different inks.

Paper is a bigger issue with fountain pens. Avoid Moleskine, choose Rhodia.
