Where in Australia are you based?? I've seen a bunch of really awesome coworking spaces in Melbourne and can help you get connected to the people I know.

Re:Ask HN: How do you showcase work from previous jobs? on Wednesday July 16, 2014 @11:43PM (#8045964)
I personally like the idea of keeping a personal journal. I usually just describe what i'm working on and write it in a document which goes into a folder that is month / year stamped. Just be descriptive in what project you worked. How you overcame certain problems. What were the pain points and your solution. Rather than using actual code you can use Pseudo Code or write it in descriptive english so its a reference point to your coding efforts and nothing to do with the IP.
If price isn't an issue I'd definitely look into the Razer Blade 14" It's every bit as good as a MacBook Pro in build quality and has really high end specs (since it's a gaming laptop) is also touch screen and a windows machine
Re:Ask HN: Invitation to YC Hacks? on Monday July 07, 2014 @03:10PM (#8000704)
As YC usually does... All acceptances and rejections will be sent out today at the same time.
Go for it... History has proven that if your product / service is something people want / need / use then it will get traction regardless of the domain name. Being realistic most people know that .com domains are running out. And once your company gains traction you can make a bid and buy the .com domain

Re:Ask HN : Who's in NYC for YC StartUp School on Tuesday June 17, 2014 @03:38PM (#7906503)
I'm here right now with a friend at We Work 222 Broadway, Fulton. Seems like a pretty place to work and chill. Spent the day looking for other co-working spaces and narrowed down to this one. Wasn't too keen on doing the coffee shop thing.

It's just a viral video... India passed a law a little more than a year ago banning the use of any aerial device in Indian airspace by civilians .... Apparently something to do with security and privacy
Re:Ask HN: I'm visiting SF for 3 days, what do I do? on Monday May 12, 2014 @01:08PM (#7733981)
I suggest doing some online research and find people / companies that interest you and then cold email them and try to set up meeting a couple of people before you get there and then expand your network from there. Its the best way to go about it. Make friends and then friends of friends. 3 days is a short time so make sure you unwind as well. SF has a lot to offer. (Although if I was in your place i'd have prolly not 'Chilled' out either) xD. You can message me if you need any other help. I can try and point you in the right direction.
Re:Ask HN: “Coinbase just sent you 0.002329 BTC” on Monday May 05, 2014 @03:18PM (#7700534)
Yeah I got the email as well... And it's not spam it's legit because I opened and it actually got the balance... Equivalent to $1... I had applied for both internship as well as YC so can't comment at to which one triggered it but the mail mentions the application and not internship..
