Re:Claude Opus 5.5 on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @02:51AM (#49812557)
Without pacing we would have had Opus 6.. damn it! /s
No, of course not. Unless by writing a novel, you mean that the writing is done fully by a LLM and the author is just doing it for the money. This is a very silly question, it should be obvious that the writing itself is important, it's like asking a musician if they are okay that their recorded song is never heard, but instead people will hear some LLM generated garble similar to it.
I think it's quite the opposite, they live in an imaginary world with no consequences.

Maybe instead of delving into physics and bio, delve into ethics and empathy.
Re:StemDeck, a free, open-source and local AI stem separator on Saturday August 29, 2026 @04:31AM (#49488054)
Why do you rely on ffmpeg and web audio? For this use case, Rust provides everything you need. It seems to me that this project is mostly vibe coded.
"Now, that is not to say that I want their wealth to be capped or politically reallocated." Why not? It's done for wages, why should wealth be any different? Besides the technicalities, which you are not talking about and therefore I will also not get into them, I don't see any ethical reason why wealth should not suffer the same biases that wage taxation does. This kind of opinion just perpetuates the imbalances in the current terrible lop-sided system we have.
Re:Bun 1.4 on Friday August 21, 2026 @03:05AM (#49384762)
What exactly has this update led this to be a "huge win"?
Re:The Amazon Tax on Tuesday August 18, 2026 @10:53AM (#49346523)
You're completely ignoring the fact that the majority of people do not expect a search result ranking to be influenced by bidding. Yes it happens, but unless the item is labeled as an ad, most people will infer value that does not exist. And this is wrong. The only reason they appear in the search is so that they do not look like ads. There's plenty of places to advertise and the best for the consumer is for transparency to exist in the first place.

Show HN: Rekall – an Ableton Live project management companion application

https://rekall.machinelies.eu

Hello, I'm Ricardo and this is an application I've been working on for the past half year.I've been making music for a while and I have a few hundreds of projects, which several of them, have names that are completely meaningless to me. So I sought out to create a way of always having an audio file from every project without the need for me to render anything manually. Well.. I kinda lost track...

Re:AI companies are shredding rare books on Monday July 27, 2026 @10:20AM (#49070102)
If you consider that AI companies should pay the same for a book, as a person does, you should read about royalties.
Re:OpenNode – Bitcoin Payment Processor on Thursday July 23, 2026 @07:37AM (#49019950)
As other commenters replying to you have said, I was alluring to OpenAI failing to obtain a trademark precisely due to the "Open" in their name.
Re:OpenNode – Bitcoin Payment Processor on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @11:15AM (#49008150)
Avoid trademarking fees! No need to spend money on trademarking what can't be trademarked ;)
Re:I Stopped "Creating Content" on Tuesday July 21, 2026 @10:46AM (#48993028)
The medium doesn't matter, because the majority of content creators are mediocre at best on making said "content". They are just good at selling you the idea that their content matters for you to waste your time with it. If your title is "content creator" your end goal is money/attention not making the content for the sake of making it.
Commitment. The chances it's sloppy content are much higher when the presentation costs very little.
Re:I Built a Telegram Client for Pi on Thursday July 09, 2026 @05:17AM (#48843113)
You know it's AI slop when the title is some variation of "I built.."
Re:Chat Control passed first round in EU Parliament on Tuesday July 07, 2026 @11:47AM (#48819435)
The real joke is that these MEPs leave for summer break like they are school children and their attendance doesn't matter to the whole.
Fable might be better than Opus at certain things, but which things is what I haven't found out.

Then support your favorite AI music creators by going to their gigs.. oh wait
Re:Getting Creative with Perlin Noise Fields on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @11:57AM (#48557286)
If you dig Perlin noise fields, the next stop is fBM (Fractional Brownian Motion). Inigo Quilez has a good article about it - https://iquilezles.org/articles/fbm/
Saying it gives "the minimum" is generous, it's pretty much useless out of the box. And did I say slow as well? I think pi is great if you're into spending your time managing your harness rather than using it. In that regard, it's more like neovim.
Re:Tailwind and slop apps on Friday June 12, 2026 @03:58AM (#48501186)
What a bunch of nonsense. Tailwind doesn't come with components.
The performance on the site is truly terrible, the top animation was probably going at 5fps when scrolling.
Re:Claude Opus 4.8 on Thursday May 28, 2026 @06:13PM (#48316268)
let me guess, "this is our best model yet"
What you mention of training without human data seems to me an impossibility. Unless you're talking about going back to programming an AI via traditional methods rather than relying on machine learning (which might not be impossible, hard to prove it as such at least).

I don't think you can divorce intelligence from all biological aspects and just get computational power. It's an interesting question though..

Re:Qwen3.6-27B: Flagship-Level Coding in a 27B Dense Model on Thursday April 23, 2026 @04:19AM (#47873389)
Don't forget that you're also spending much more electricity because it takes so long to run inference.
It's damn time for streaming platforms to allow users to filter out AI music. Better than that, would be for the EU to regulate this and to demand an opt-out by default for every streaming provider.
Re:Figma's woes compound with Claude Design on Monday April 20, 2026 @08:01AM (#47833065)
If i can be forthright, it looks like any other llm slop website design. The grain effect, the extra long FAQ, the reveal animations, the bad combination of font sizes and contrast ratios.. you're better off ripping off a website that has been actually designed by someone who understands what they are doing.
Re:I still prefer MCP over skills on Friday April 10, 2026 @09:21AM (#47717747)
Don't they both solve different problems? This tribalism makes no sense.
