Not surprising this is why I have switched to Macbook Pro long back.

Windows is to crappy and bloated to deal with and linux desktop is great to some extent but nothing beats the hardware and software synergy provided by Macbook Pro.

Imagine how many decisions were made similar to this at the cost of smooth user experience. This is why windows or any MS products will never be my favourite because user experience takes back seat mostly.
Sometimes I wonder how worse our world could be if Google and Facebook doesn't exist and Microsoft kind of corporates dominating search and social networks.

Products will be shitty AF and no regards even for paid user and expert at annoying them.

So true. Without amazon retail experience is shit in India

Re:RSS as a Facebook alternative on Tuesday March 09, 2021 @11:54PM (#26407911)
One major reason for people to rely on FB is every post carry some weight like author/friend who shared it/likes/comments

RSS is a great alternative but definitely won't make a dent in FB

Re:Facebook Container for Firefox on Wednesday October 21, 2020 @02:11PM (#24850489)
I wish we have the same for Android apps as well. I don't want random Apps to have full access to my storage instead it can have it's own space.

Not sure what VSCode will become in future but for now VSCode is amazing for JS projects, quick browse & edits on adhoc files

But IntelliJ, GoLand, PyCharm etc.. is way more convenient for significant changes in code base.

And the data grip plugin provided by Jetbrains for Postgres / MySQL is light years ahead of any other DB GUI I came across.

Recently my respect to apple is growing more and more because of issues like this. Apple is always criticised for lack of innovations compared to its competitors but their attention to smaller details and ensuring their products just "work" proved to be more valuable to customers than dozens of broken features.

Edit: Of course there are some exceptions like apple maps
