Yes. :)
Re:Ask HN: What is the point of algorithm-heavy interviews? on Tuesday November 05, 2019 @06:00AM (#21451277)
Not all interviews are algo-heavy. I recently interviewed for a position in AWS and the challenge was a simple floodfill argo (leetcode easy).
Re:Estonian Startup Has Become a Thorn in Uber’s Side on Monday April 29, 2019 @01:14AM (#19776000)
And now Bolt (formely Taxify) is getting competition from Yandex.Taxi. The Russian equivalent of Uber.

It's a race to the bottom. But customers benefit, which is nice.

Would you please care to elaborate on point 2 or provide additional information to learn about this? BTW - I'm from the EU.
Nice tool!

It would be really nice to be able to save the estimate to send to clients. Don't necessarily need backend for that - we can store data in the querystring for a fast & easy hack.

I was so sad when I found out that they've pulled the plug on that project. Too late to export data, so I lost all my data.

Thanks for this. It made me giggle.
Re:Privacy API: Programmable Payments on Thursday July 12, 2018 @02:33PM (#17517339)
Privacy.com is available only for the US. Anything similar available in Europe?
Re:How to build a house alone [video] on Friday April 20, 2018 @04:25AM (#16883082)
Building your own house seems like a pretty common thing from where I come from (Eastern Europe). Nonetheless, the timelapses he does look really cool.
Re:Uber Bike – A New Way to Commute or Explore on Wednesday January 31, 2018 @02:23PM (#16276719)
Click on the location icon in top navigation bar, type in "Seattle", select it and then navigate back to the page. You'll now be able to see the contents.

Re:Sense sleep tracker maker Hello is shutting down on Tuesday June 13, 2017 @06:36AM (#14543893)
What other devices would you suggest for someone looking to buy a sleep tracker/smart alarm?
Re:Goodbye, Eastern Europe on Friday February 17, 2017 @11:38AM (#13669530)
Eastern European here.

Yes, the heritage of the iron curtain is slowly disappearing, but I would not say that it is happening as fast as the author thinks it is.

As an example, there is still a serious division between the "nationals" and "occupants" (Russian speaking people) in Latvia. We have different politicians, celebrations, churches, companies and neighborhoods for people speaking in either the Latvian or Russian language.

Youth still tries to get away from the country since the working conditions are not the best. I'm lucky to be working in IT, where it's much better than the for the rest of the population (developers tend to make more than our politicians), but that's due to western countries looking for cheap IT labor (cheap for them; but good money for locals).

What about Europeans? It doesn't seem like the sign-up form supports European phone numbers (least not Latvian).

Do You have any plans supporting email notifications instead of phone notifications?

Thanks! I've been looking for something like this for quite a while now, but without any success.

Is there any way to buy these from Europe?
Re:ScreenTime – movies from periodic OS X screenshots on Tuesday June 30, 2015 @05:18AM (#9803897)
Looks interesting. Is there any video example of this?
Re:Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on Friday May 29, 2015 @04:26PM (#9627072)
Do we actually have any proof of that or is it just something that the media is feeding us?
Re:Popcorn Time in Your Browser on Tuesday May 19, 2015 @05:33AM (#9568857)
I love the idea, but what about copyright issues? It's easier for Hollywood to take down a single site than to take down thousands of people having an installed application.

Other than that - great implementation. I didn't know this was even possible! Good job.

Anything similar for OSX?
Re:Show HN: HackerSurf – All the hacker jobs in one place on Tuesday December 02, 2014 @09:42AM (#8687288)
This will be quite useful for me, thanks!

If I apply to work at a company remotely - how do I know that I'm not getting screwed over (not paid)? I'm 19 and some of my friends have gotten screwed over by a few foreign employers whilst working remotely. Do You have any tips to find a good place?

Re:Purplecoat.js – Simple Labeled Overlays on Monday November 10, 2014 @03:24AM (#8582523)
This is a great thing to have for CMSs. Clients often times don't understand what's `navigation.html` or `top header`, so this could aid in helping them to understand it. Good job!
Re:Jawbone UP3 Activity Tracker on Wednesday November 05, 2014 @01:52AM (#8560783)
Basis Peak does look much more advanced, but I wouldn't say that it has many more features that other bands don't have. In my opinion, the bigest factor for it is the design (both site and product). It just looks a little less futuristic and as something that regular people could actually use on a day-to-day basis.
Re:iPhone 6 on Tuesday September 09, 2014 @05:09PM (#8293173)
Am I the only one that feels a bit dissapointed about the design of this device?

Up till now all of the new iphones seemed to get nicer and nicer design-wise, but this seems like a big step back to iphone 3. Perhaps it's just my taste.

Re:Hexels – a new art tool on Sunday August 17, 2014 @03:54PM (#8190253)
Seeing that I spend most of my day staring at pixels (squares), I always find this hexagonal art remarkably amazing.

I know that back in the day using squares was the easiest way how to represent images on the screen, but could the exact same thing be done with hexagons nowadays?
