I just love Google Maps.
The first one, who’s 11 and been with me for 8 years now, has incredible communication. She’s always been pretty close to humans but for the past year and a half we have had them at home (they were boarded before). Even my boyfriend who isn’t that much into horses can understand her. In winter they have blankets and up until we had them at home they were in stables. So the horse can’t really escape the blanket. Now they live outside. Well she figured out how to tell us that tonight she doesn’t want the blanket : when we approach, she moves, just one or two steps. And will repeat the move if we insist. And on days where she wants it, she stands still. I discovered that she endured a blanket for most of her life when she didn’t feel the need for one. Second time she blew my mind : one night coming home late in the evening, she came to block the car on the road. She had daily garnements still on. I removed then and she walked away peacefully.
The second one is 8, and grew up with very limited human contact for her first 5 years : breeder who barely manipulated them. She’s the least interested in humans, and the most friendly to other horses. I’ve had her for only 3 years but I don’t think we’ll ever reach the communication level of the first one.
The third one is 4, which is young for a horse, so she still has lots of playfulness and curiosity towards humans, and I haven’t owned enough horses to know how she’ll turn out, if it will fade or not!
Just a few weeks ago I also had one iMac and one old MacBook but I just sold them both.
Also one iPhone one iPad and one Apple Watch. And one car if that counts too.
> The real thing people should be actively looking for is strong emotional connection, as in: to what degree can I share who I am with this person, do they get it, how interested are they in who I am, my feelings and thoughts, can we accommodate each other’s preferences, are we good at talking.
I am in an hopefully now lifelong relationship, that almost failed at some point, but what brought us back together is this. So very true. We just "got" each other, from pretty early on, and although it can be crafted through years, it's just a bliss when it's spontaneous. And finding that level of connection (of course strengthened through the years together) again looks impossible.
(And if they stalk my account, I love you :) )
So I need human interactions but it’s fine if it’s another group of people. I have hobbies outside with people too, but the mandatory aspect of a job, and the variety of people (compared to a hobby where we all like the same thing) just makes it better.
I am not sure you will see my message as I’m late to the party but I would like to reach out to you.
But to give more insight into what motivates me in life, I have been blessed with the love of nature and animals especially, own pets, taking care of which is a daily time and money sink, but also without fail gets me outside each day of the year and in a good mood and shape, and allows me some peaceful moments where I do not think about anything else than the present moment and some kind of nature "communion" of sorts, around pets and nature.
And I sincerely think it is a blessing, as I think I have a rather simple and happy life, and haven't been distraught durably for years. I feel for all the stressed people out there that do not have such an easy way to relax.
