I don't know if I agree with this generalization...

Are you arguing that success is in the eye of the stakeholder? Sounded to me like it was a success.

No.
Re:Instagram Has a Massive Harassment Problem on Monday October 15, 2018 @12:22PM (#18221064)
This implicitly claims that your identity isn't even loosely coupled to "izzydata". A quick google shows twitch, youtube, twitter, etc. If these are in fact, you, then it is highly likely you could be identified. If you can be identified, you can be harassed.

Don't normalize harassment.

hmm... you might be on a different part of reddit than I am.

Excellent takeaway.

Can you say X comes at the cost of Y and Z? A and B in the previous example were products. Y and Z in your example are attributes of the products A, B and C. Pedantic, but less confusing.
examples?

These are some broad generalizations.
How does this relate to the discussion?
Re:Does it scale? Who cares (2011) on Sunday April 09, 2017 @08:44AM (#14071990)
You could argue it would be bigger. Instead of working around Travis to connect to repositories, the repositories are there. That's the biggest sell for me, anyway.
I like this mindset.

> It's not amazing that we amaze ourselves.

This realization is super assuring with the complexity of the discoveries broadcast on HackerNews. Sometimes it's overwhelming, but now I can think of it as a sort of... scale.

and here I was trying to avoid an existential crisis today. There that goes.
This is cowardly.

You can't be serious
Re:MIT Values on Monday November 28, 2016 @09:07AM (#13055452)
Gas lighting doesn't change the tone of your rhetoric. Drawing conclusions from what you said isn't a big stretch, given that you were dismissive, and clearly invested in the scientific portion of the MIT statement:

> Science and all that

Really sounds like you chose MIT. You know there's a part in there where they acknowledge climate change? That's pretty important.

> Social Justice Rhetoric on HN.

Again, really hard to take you seriously.

Re:MIT Values on Sunday November 27, 2016 @11:19PM (#13053381)
> SJW posturing you see at second- and third-tier

It's been difficult to take anyone seriously that has a problem with people they label as "Social Justice Warriors". Also, this isn't the sort of rhetoric I enjoy seeing on HN.

It's important to note that they also specifically called out the President-Elect for his Climate-Denying statements.

Him being racist – and a denier – make this incredibly important.

Why is this important? They are in a position of scientific authority, and they are opposing a position of government authority. He is incorrect, he is ascending to power, and this sets their authority against his authority.

This is about who you trust for your information and who will help shape your opinion. An esteemed educational institution, or a racist demagogue? Sounds to me like you've already made your choice.

I am not being baited into an argument about this.
I'm disappointed to see this sort of hysteria and conspiracy theorizing in a HN comment section.

I can't tell if this is serious or not, but this continues to make me chuckle.

A lot of this stuff is kind of... exaggerated. There's no real metrics except for these "small piece of day" x "five days a week" to make it seem dramatic. Not much value in this post.

This is a gross misunderstanding of how the internet works.

You have nothing to add to this discussion. Please take this rhetoric elsewhere.
I really like this idea, and I'm a mid-level developer in the market to maintain a package like you've described. I would love to participate, and I'm going to watch this.
What's a good use case for this platform?
