Things like this make me appreciate Gofmt so much
Re:AI Models Can Provably Hide Arbitrary Capabilities on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @01:09AM (#50067006)
How is it trivially detectable?

What happens to Supabase?
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @05:46PM (#49914902)
“…rolling out to a set of trusted cyber defenders” == capturing the market for large regulated industries and governments where we already have established relationships.

Some of these have been unable or unwilling to get the attention of OpenAI or Anthropic and we need to make sure we’re the runner up here.

Re:Jev and System One Models: Calibration Beats Accuracy on Thursday September 24, 2026 @11:43PM (#49839978)
Can’t produce text ergo can’t hallucinate I think is the marketing claim
Re:Saying No on Sunday August 09, 2026 @06:39PM (#49236932)
I think you missed the point. Any negotiation, from the point of view of the author, was a negative and unfair outcome.

He had paid to rent the space for a particular purpose. He had already compromised by allowing a portion of the space to be less than ideal for his use. The other side was demanding “completely our way and nothing for you” given fabricated reasons.

He did not care to understand because he could tell the reasons were not legitimate.

No was the right answer and to call the manager’s bluff. He does t make the final decision, the owner does.

Re:AI's top startups are barely publishing their research on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @09:33PM (#49105175)
Frontier AI research is not only under incredible commercial pressure but it’s also a geopolitical advantage.

I don’t think Dario wants to be a monopolist. But history is full of brilliant people who focused on the social good as priority #1 and lost the game early.

Once you lose the game and go bankrupt you can’t do anything. Same as politics, if you’re not elected you can’t change anything. Of course there are many lines not worth crossing.

Re:Cloudflare's new AI traffic options for customers on Saturday July 25, 2026 @10:56PM (#49054230)
What’s the end goal for Cloudflare and the web here? I don’t think ADOG (anthropic, deepmind, openai, google) is going to pay to crawl.

What would force their hand?

It’s more likely they’ll strike undisclosed agreements with major sources of discussion like reddit etc.

That’s not to say getting new information as a way of context-providing is not going to happen but that’s not scraping.

Sorry to rain on your parade but Claude CoWork already announced this.
Re:Understanding the AI Economy on Thursday July 23, 2026 @08:40AM (#49020648)
Is this Google’s poorer version of Anthropic’s economic index?
Your Slack admin can read all messages regardless of where it was posted via SIEM
Tell-me-there’s-a-huge-opp-in Salesforce-for-the-department-of-war-but-Anthropic-and-Mythos-is-winning without telling me

Re:Claude Code Is Steganographically Marking Requests on Wednesday July 01, 2026 @02:11AM (#48742894)
Looks and feels like a red herring while Anthropic applies other silent countermeasures.
Classic marketing pricing strategy. Suddenly what has been seen as cheap is now given airs of luxury, exclusivity and craftsmanship.

If you are really serious about your work… and you are, aren’t you? Then $150 is nothing, it’s a reflection on how serious you are. An artist needs great tools… etc etc

Re:Claude Tag on Tuesday June 23, 2026 @06:26PM (#48652360)
Wowza this will be a token guzzler. Assuming Claude is parsing every message posted on multiple slack channels, compacting knowledge etc.

Looks like Anthropic is progressing further into platform territory and conquering Agentic use cases left right and centre. If you’re building an agent platform for workforce productivity today, your best best is model agnosticism and focus on token cost control.

Re:DuckDB Internals: Why Is DuckDB Fast? (Part 1) on Friday June 19, 2026 @01:48AM (#48595228)
Why is DuckDB so popular when one can use Python + Pandas?

Better perf + SQL is that mostly it?

Re:Ask HN: Is anyone using the A2A protocol yet? on Friday June 19, 2026 @01:02AM (#48594938)
A2A Protocol is directed at enterprises as is much of Google Cloud’s AI focus. They just renamed their AI suite “Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform” if you don’t believe me.

Enterprises have been sold on the idea of Agents talking to each other and performing collaborative work (replacing employees etc) so it makes sense.

From my pov nothing stops me from having a full blown agent _behind_ my MCP server.

So calling agent sees and MCP server, gets list of tools etc. The MCP server spins up an instance of relevant Agent and tells it to maintain state (if needed) as a key back to the calling agent’s MCP session_id.

Trivial stuff on Cloudflare

Re:Codex for Open Source on Saturday June 13, 2026 @11:22PM (#48523885)
Nice way of guaranteeing access to source code as training material and intelligence gathering
Re:Doing Nothing at Work on Monday June 08, 2026 @10:44AM (#48446098)
Don’t you? You can always say no verbally or with non-delivery. Are you working under a continuous and immediate threat of dismissal?
Re:VoidZero Is Joining Cloudflare on Thursday June 04, 2026 @10:14AM (#48398992)
What’s the Google one? Flutter?
Stop calling Google Cloud, “Google”.

Completely different group of people, culture and incentives.

Google Cloud is another company under Alphabet.

Re:Gemini CLI will stop working from June 18, 2026 on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @11:52AM (#48209775)
Writing was on the wall. That horse has bolted and Google was not on it
Re:I'm going back to writing code by hand on Monday May 11, 2026 @05:03AM (#48092662)
Good luck finding a job. All the decision making business people I know see only two types of “technical people”.

The ones who are “AI pilled” and the contagious lepers.

Re:Replace IBM Quantum back end with /dev/urandom on Saturday April 25, 2026 @11:25PM (#47907021)
It’s a jab at QC and a right hook onto IBM’s snake oil selling chin.
Re:Claude Code Routines on Wednesday April 15, 2026 @02:12AM (#47775311)
Anthropic is putting a lot of eggs into the same Claude Code basket.

If the Lovable clone is real that’s going to piss off many model consumers out there.

Is Sierra next?
