Wow expert. Much analysis.
I didn't have to read an article to see that it's pure speculation based on nothing.
Yes, it could surge to $50k, or it could also fall to $50. Technically it is true.
Looking at my phone and macbook with built-in batteries, I realize a car with a swappable battery is not something we can achieve as humanity.
I don't disagree with you, but USDC and USDT are identical in their transparency, yet everyone hates USDT.
I don't see an issue with learning the age of the customers who come into the store.
I think a much bigger issue with tech is censorship and surveillance of political opposition, not the recording of someone's age and gender.
Is this the first major porn site to be hacked?
To recap, you seem to be concerned that all social media are allowing posts to become popular, and those posts sometimes promote hatred towards conservatives or liberals.
Two questions:
- What do you think should be done about the legacy media that is doing the same?
- Should social media promote boring posts, or actively censor political content in favour of a certain viewpoint, or anything else? Perhaps a real-life name registration for anyone with over 1000 followers, like in China?
What's the advantage of using a Chinese platform instead of Facebook in terms of privacy, freedom of speech or political influence?
Why?
The reasons I've seen are:
> it creates a risk of bad self-image for young girls
It's a parent's job to educate your children. There are much worse things than Facebook out there.
> it collects data
Literally no harm in knowing that someone is interested in JavaScript, cats and fetish porn, and targeting ads to that user.
> it's addictive
So is sex, marijuana, and collecting stamps.
> it helps organize protests
Good.
This sounds so extremely far-fetched and designed to create a negative impression of Facebook. Does anyone even take this seriously? If yes, why?
> mobile phones are addictive
> internet is used to organize protests
That's the thing, COVID is an "eternal war" as described in dystopian novels. If you describe COVID in war terms, then it justifies all sorts of atrocities.

I've tried "Bill Gates" to "Wuhan Institute of Virology" and I'm pleased with the results.
You are correct that there is this theory, yet I haven't seen any evidence of that.
Deleting Navalny's bot seems like a response to a threat from Apple and Google. To fight this, it would be great to abandon Apple and distribute all apps via Android APKs, circumventing the app stores. (Not gonna happen, I know)
First they came for the American opposition, then they came for the Russian opposition, then there was no opposition at all.
I quit Firefox partly because I don't like them going into political activism instead of making a browser. And all that on my donations? No thanks.
I switched to a little known Chromium-based browser and feel happy every moment I'm using it.
Firefox is still okay for its dev tools though.
Governments are the source of the biggest atrocities and injustices in history, yet most Americans want to give the government more power. That won't end well.
If cars and planes were invented today, they would be banned.
From your answer and other people's answers I feel like everyone has been brainwashed to focus on minor things like this, and totally ignore the elephant in the room.
So Facebook and Google know your religion, politics and food preferences. So what? How can they harm you with this?
They harm you when they choose what you can say, who you can talk to and who you can do business with. But literally what's the harm of ads? Making your computer a bit slower? That's such a tiny issue it's not even worth talking about.
Seriously, you're worried about someone spending more time on their phone or spending more money on goods and services? Spending their own money — not the public money? That's what freedom is to you? Not the freedom to talk to whoever you want, say whatever you want or pay whoever you want?
Why is it important to have "privacy" from someone selling me a new video streaming service, but not important to fight against censorship and policing of content by tech giants?
I can't quite understand this. By "exploiting" you simply mean targeting ads?
The real harm seems to be from the tech giants censoring speech and policing payments, but what's the harm that someone targets a pair of shorts that I might like or show an ad for a conference I might be interested in?
And you really think a socialist revolution is a way to solve it?
You voted for the government hell-bent on safetyism, so that's a consequence.
I am totally making an npm package that secretly generates a CP image during the postinstall script.
Developers created this and developers must suffer from this.
So... Any predictions for how long till this is used to target opposition?
1984 is a nice book, but it's too late to read it. We are already living in a 1984 world.
I find it more useful to read another dystopian novel, Atlas Shrugged, which, written in 1957, surprisingly well predicts the collectivist changes happening right now.
Expect people to be swatted by placing CP on their laptop.

I don't think anyone should have the authority to "allow" or "disallow" such companies to exist.
