> despite saying they're "harmful", they've been everywhere for all these decades that a lot of other measures of quality of life have been increasing?
Might be unrelated (or not), but cancer rates have been exploding the last decades. Example via Google-Fu:
> Cancer cases in under-50s worldwide up nearly 80% in three decades, study finds
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/sep/05/cancer-cases...
Those would surely all be crushed beyond recognition by tectonic shifts?
> That's a frustrating response, because you must surely understand as a whole what they are saying.
It's late and I couldn't come up with something that'd survive the timespan in question, so I just wanted an example.

> What they were not doing was sitting in a classroom for 6-8 hours a day listening to someone talk and then going home and sitting indoors for the rest of the day […]
That is not a new occurrence, though. It has largely been like this for a 100 years now.
> Oh cool, something that wasn't a problem in the past now has a solution that can be bought through a variety of products and services.
Plastic additives and softeners have been linked to ADHD – and plastic is virtually omnipresent nowadays. ADHD presents differently in boys and girls. I wonder if there could be a relation.
They offer a life-time membership that requires a one-time payment.
> Not really, no.
Well, perhaps have some basic knowledge of the topic at hand before oversimplifying the matter by simply paraphrasing "cui bono", effectively hinting at heinous Jewish scheming being the crux of the matter.
Yeah! And how comes that YU-NO – the visual novel GOAT – is mentioned nowhere?
> Under-appreciated: not wearing shoes all day.
For me it's regularly putting my feet up, standing up to stretch, and looking out of the window into the distance for a few minutes.
You know, just some things you should absolutely do if you value your health. And yet, having coworkers around tends to guilt you into not doing them.

"Science is untrustworthy because scientists have been wrong before."
Outstanding take!
All other things aside, it will also make food less nutritious:
> Research led by Sam Myers, Director of the Planetary Health Alliance at the Harvard Chan School, found that when food crops like wheat, corn, rice and soy are exposed to CO2 at levels predicted for 2050, the plants lose as much as 10% of their zinc, 5% of their iron, and 8% of their protein content.

There is no bet for you to take, but I hope you’ll find the time to think back to your foolishness once when we have resource wars and widespread famines due to simultaneous global breadbasket failure.
You will live to see the worst of it. Denial will not save you.
> What about all the potential New Yorks that are currently too cold to live in but could be thriving cities if they were just warmer?
That’s easy: those New Yorks will release hundreds of years worth of greenhouse gases when they plow the newly ice-free soil around them.
> Until people see a material change, they're not going to make massive changes themselves.
The beauty of climate change is that it’ll be too late by then.
A perfect civilisation killer, designing a better one would be a tall order.
How about I don't watch ads and don't buy premium?
> It’s also massive so mitigations will take a long time to be applied.
Surely it cannot be too hard to slap 2 or 3 anti-collision decals on every window from the outside?
> IMO ditch the concept of nonstick pans and just use fat on stainless steel.
Amen. One would be best advised to stick to the tried and true.
Who the hell wishes for one tit and/or one ball? /s
> For a long time we lived mostly avoiding the consequences of our pollution, but now it's everywhere in our food and water.
To expand on that, there are places in the USA where you breathe in forever chemicals when you take a hot shower.
> This is one thing that makes me not want to use recycled stuff
You should avoid plastics in general if you (rightfully) worry about forever chemicals.
> If we could wave a magic wand and completely stop our CO2 emissions it wouldn't move the needle on global warming at all.
That stance could be held by virtually every country, condemning us to collective inaction.
> The observation is from 1998 which I believe has relevance that would be curiously missing from the article?
What you're missing is that it's not an article, but an educational resource for kids in grade 3–12.
Worrying about some hypothetical genocide against Russians that might or might not manifest whenever someone points out a direct consequence of Russia's genocidal war of aggression against Ukraine has to be the height of cynicism.
I wonder, does your HVAC system work without power? Considering that any electric grid might just collapse when everyone flips on their air conditioning in 49 °C heat?
