Now I wonder why it's on Pathfinder on the first place and why it's stealing traffic from the original source.
I am a lot like you, and I've tried so many things. Tips, tricks, to-do lists, whatever.

The one thing that sticks with me is to first truly understand the value of time. It sounds cheesy but time really is the most valuable resource in the world, and procrastinating is about the worst way to squander it.

Also, even after coming at that conclusion, it's still a struggle, every day. There is not a day when you can magically be not lazy. It will still be there forever, but you can choose to fight it. It's a daily struggle, but absolutely worth it, though.

For an example of a good (or at least unique) usage of Times New Roman on web design, take a look here: http://seedconference.com/seed.php

Dash app[1] is brilliant. It's an all-in-one place for language documentations. Very useful.

Re:Collection of the best fonts for programming on Sunday April 28, 2013 @09:00PM (#5623560)
So I browsed around for a free alternative of Nitti, most popularly known as iA Writer's font. Someone recommended an alternative: Cousine. http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/cousine

It's my new favorite now.

Freebbble is less populated, but contains license information for each item. http://freebbble.com/

Disclaimer: I develop it.

Can you link to an example of these publishers? My Google-fu fails me.
.id results show available but can't be found on any three domain seller.

Can you link to an article that explains this structure? Googling fails me, returning articles about thunderstorms instead.

Similar to how IE's box model was deemed incorrect until fast-forward today and people realized that their box model was simpler and easier to use compared to the standard. See: http://paulirish.com/2012/box-sizing-border-box-ftw/
Re:Mashable's Responsive Redesign on Wednesday November 14, 2012 @02:26PM (#4785014)
There is actually a difference if we're talking about "adaptive layout" vs "liquid layout". In adaptive layout, the layout is adjusted in steps according to a limited number of sizes (various screen sizes, usually). While in responsive layout, the layout is adjusted continuously to every possible width.[1] When we're talking about responsive design, most example uses liquid layout.

Adaptive layout, though, is arguably better for readability. Optimal readability involves having control of the line-length of a body of text, which can be achieved with adaptive layout. In the case of liquid layout, line-length varies wildly over every width change, which is sub-optimal readability-wise.

In Indonesia as well.
Re:Glider - A minimal, text-focused theme for Wordpress on Sunday October 28, 2012 @09:20PM (#4710624)
Disagree. Justification causes the so called "River" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_(typography) that can cause readability problem.

With the relative lack of typographical control on the web right now, it's best to keep text non-justified.

Pretty sure the article was written before they started working on iA Writer.

Why is it atrocious? Care to explain?
Great service!

Feature request: allow us to add parameters to your url for sorting and start/end with options, instead of just the q present right now, so it can be more flexibly bookmarked and linked.

Re:Always a starter, never a finisher. on Monday March 26, 2012 @12:17AM (#3754970)
It could be more useful outside of SEO purposes, though. Pretty links allow people to guess the content of a page by looking at the browser's status bar when the link is hovered. It becomes especially important if the link text itself is not descriptive enough ("click here").

Any link for the Startup Marketing special issue? Thank you.
The couple of times domain company thread appeared on HN, name.com was suggested. I moved from GoDaddy there a couple months ago and found their interface far simpler and easier to use.

Re:Donating 8 hours design time to any project on Monday March 15, 2010 @09:21PM (#1194647)
Your website actually has a decent design. It's easy to read with big enough font size, line-height and padding and basically it has no glaring annoyances that plague badly designed websites.

I say even more minimalism could do well in regard to the color scheme, and probably the flow of reading on the home page could be improved as well (e.g "Start Using Tarsnap now!" could be placed right underneath "Tarsnap pricing").

Other than that, buttons linking to quick download and registration should do well, too.
