Only the ones that ask for it, obviously. What kind of stupid question is this?
Nah they're just cheap.

Neither of those. The pay is great and if all leadership cares about is making the whole company "AI Native" and pushing bullshit diffs, I'll play ball.

Native GUI libs look like shit out of the box, and are terrible to work with when you want to make something that doesn't look like out of the box tkinter/swing/qt/winforms Windows 95 looking crap.

Yeah, because "AI is so great guys!!" is any better.
Throw simming in there, too.

I'm curious, how do you use it for Game RE?
It's most likely causality-based time, not the time per an atomic clock.
Post is old by now, but I've had this spreadsheet bookmarked for years:https://medium.com/point-nine-news/a-landscape-of-the-major-...
I also was confused by why he was being so cryptic about a very popular forum.

Except the software running in TEEs, including the source code, is all verifiable at runtime, via a third party not controlled by Meta. And if you disagree, claim a bug bounty and become famous for exposing Meta as frauds. Or, more likely, stick with your reddit-tier zealotry and clown posting.
What's the point in arguing about what-ifs? The children were deported. In real life. There's no need for hypothetical scenarios, focus on the actual point of the article and thread.
> 3) Enough with the ideological censorship

What's this referring to? It seems to me they've stayed out of the culture war stuff (compared to Meta who is wading in it, for example).

My comment didn't add much in the way of discussion, so it probably should have been downvoted. But like you said, Rust isn't making a dent so far, and it'll take much more than memory safety to convince the industry to switch to e.g. Bevy rather than the big 2.

No it's not

Yes
VAC is absolutely terrible, are you kidding? You have to rage to get VAC banned.
Without kernel level anti cheat you can detect (some) other usermode cheats, but not kernel level cheats. With kernel level anticheat, you can detect the vast majority of other kernel level cheats. Vanguard is effective enough that most successful cheaters are using external devices and DMA to bypass the kernel altogether (or they just use Macs because Apple doesn't allow Vanguard). And despite Riot's insistence to the contrary, they have not "detected" DMA cheats.
I think the point is that competitive multiplayer games are not critical. Scripting in e.g. league of legends probably doesn't register on 99% of humanities "top 100 most critical things in my life" radar.

Re:Are We Anti-Cheat Yet? on Saturday September 07, 2024 @09:44PM (#41477599)
DMA cheats are not detected. What happened is thousands of cheaters all bought firmware from the same guy, and Riot was able to determine via stats that this group of people with the same obscure "network card" had outlier stats, and they banned them all. DMA is by definition not detectable, but human idiocy is.

Ridiculous. Only you believe those two are equivalent.
