Darwinium (darwinium.com) is another example. Approach here involves a combination of profiling and step-transition probabilities; idea is that a customer can ring-fence a particular area of a digital estate where they might want to challenge or block an agent - eg a payment, due to chargeback risks. Precursor at least for now seems more focused on site scraping multiple docs from the same site.
ironically this was the game that enabled the savegame exploit with the bert and ernie fonts if i recall correctly
Darwinium | Senior Fullstack Engineer (Frontend focused) | Enterprise Fraud & Risk Management | Remote (GMT+11 – Sydney)
Darwinium helps some of the world’s biggest companies stop fraud before it happens — without breaking the experience for genuine customers. We do this through a unique edge-deployed architecture that provides real-time visibility and control across every customer journey.
We’re a VC-backed startup of 35 people, with engineering and product based in Sydney. The founding team previously built and exited companies in the fraud and security space (including billion-dollar outcomes).
The role: We’re looking for a senior fullstack engineer who enjoys working across boundaries from TypeScript frontends and backend services to data pipelines and distributed systems. You’ll work closely with our platform and product teams to build the tools that power customer fraud detection and orchestration. Someone who has built vscode extensions or has worked closely in the fraud or security space would be a bonus
Our stack: Rust for the engine, ClickHouse for persistence, TypeScript (React + Node) for frontend and ancillary services, deployed globally at the edge.

Every day i look across at a gorgeous device on the corner of my desk gathering dust that "could be" if there were the ability to run any android app on it (...namely the Homeassistant app).Given the device's age, abandonment, and lack of recent updates, I'm curious as to why someone hasn't been able to figure out an exploit chain for this particular line of devices using the old chrome 121...
A fridge-mounted ESP32 barcode integration would be pretty awesome for tracking fridge inventory
We do quite a lot of this using webviews in vscode over at Darwinium. Similar process that involves postMessages between the UI container and the host containing the LSP. Biggest challenge I had with this was figuring out how to map a diagnostic from the language server (which is inherently range-based) to a UI component that would display it - it involves a fairly intricate pubsub system. Would love to share it eventually.
I cancelled my Prime membership 3 years ago after moving to Australia. Haven't missed it in the slightest. I make far fewer impulse purchases and found prime video anaemic at best.
just went to the store to buy a Vodafone prepaid sim card. There were about 60 people in line.
Point of sales are out in a lot of coffee shops. Utter chaos!
Because the browser is the gateway to things like search. And thats the gateway to a lot of things.
this is a toxic comment, and rather presumptive. You don't know what this person's use-case is or what constraints they have.
I wouldn’t underestimate that. All CDN vendors are substantially different. Lambda @edge is broken into requests and responses, and don’t even get me started on Akamai.
Nice Dave Dobbyn sneak reference there.
It's been many years for me but i recall ZK (zkoss.org) being fairly compelling
Yeah I intentionally chose it as the foundation for UI for a project we started in 2021. The components are simple and lightweight there's an abundance of great themes.
10 PRINT "FUCK"
20 GOTO 10
…still makes me giggle
The pages of code beginning on page 82 bring back some memories. There was a certain childhood thrill that came from changing some of those values despite not really knowing what was going on.
Hate to break it to you, but December 1991 was 30 years ago.
Reminds me of Victor Gruen (designer of the modern shopping mall) and his thoughts on what it became.
I ran a no-code startup about 10 years ago for building mobile apps. My experience has been that no-code is empowering... until it isn't. There's always a piece of bespoke functionality where suddenly the environment you're in becomes a trap unless there's a plugin ecosystem that enables you to write your own integrations. Oftentimes building these plugin customizations becomes more difficult than if you'd built the whole thing in-scratch yourself.

From a practical sense though, wouldn’t the staffing costs pale in significance to the other costs of running a large vessel?
36. Started my career at 19 and cofounded a company early in my career. Developed a like of coordinating technical direction rather than being in the trenches, and moved into product management in my mid 20s. Grew quickly into director/VP TPM roles, but recently went back to a cofounder de where I’m very much again in an IC developer role out of necessity. To my surprise I haven’t been this happy in years.
The fear was always that I would age out of my job (…probably read too many posts like this). This has simply not been the case, nor has it been for many of the people I went to college with or who were my senior in the early days of my career development. To some extent there’s a lure of managing people, but I also think that as you get older you simply stop answering surveys like this and focus upon the tasks at-hand.
I also lived my younger years with a crippling fear that I’d fall off the bandwagon if I blinked twice. This has also not been the case. technology continues to build upon the same foundational principles; it’s a matter of whether you’re willing to learn and evolve or if your goal is to settle down and avoid this.
Admittedly I do not have children.
My take- Photoshop was relatively novel at the time, and motion blur was one of the earliest filters. Do this at varying levels for a few frames and you’ve got yourself an eye-catching animated gif with minimal effort.
If you control all of the coffers, you should get to choose where you live. Sounds like your relationship is dreadfully unbalanced at the moment.
as if their abysmal IPO wasn't enough drama. Let's throw something morally reprehensible into the mix.
Has anyone noticed in SF at least that the parking meters now automatically go to the highest-possible time and you have to decrement the meter rather than increment it? Is this a 'Dark Pattern'?
So Yammer rebranded/resurrected?
In Australia, it’s spelled “Yiros” if that’s anything to go by...
