I’ve seen 2 hard guardrails with Opus 5.5 (even on a corporate account that’s not supposed to have these kinds of false positives). one, as you mentioned, is asking it to produce a PoC. but the other (which I’ve hit too many times for it to be a coincidence) is looking at a kernelspace vulnerability area even without PoC-ing.

Somewhere along the line someone at Anthropic decided you can attack userspace all day but you cross that line and it’s a problem.

That's a good book, but I'd argue that in a pure free market without intervention, monopolies would be disappointingly common (and why some level of regulation should exist).

I’m genuinely not smart enough to understand the implication from that article, can you help me to understand?

I think it's more 420 or 4:20 (marijuana reference) than 4/20 (Hitler's birthday).

Although given it's Musk, others may disagree.

It's mostly (not entirely, but mostly) finding security issues in old human-written code. It'll eventually start running out of those.

From that standpoint, it's not a crazy setup security-wise. Maybe still crazy for development.

The majority of new billionaires are either Chinese or Indian [0] so at some point you’ll need to update your race-based hatred (if you feel passionately about it) to remain accurate

Skill issue.
>And with the reckless/wanton damage the US is doing to civilian infrastructure in Iran, I think the only sane position is to brace for something much worse, inevitably.

We should have critical infrastructure secured whether or not Iran gets super mega big mad.

It's like when the guy taunted the tiger at the SF zoo and then it turned out the tiger could make it over the wall if it was sufficiently pissed off. Not the way to design any of this.

AI/ML can make the pauses, intonation, and context pronunciation (it is "bass" the fish or the guitar?) more natural/correct I'm sure.

Now whether you actually WANT your AI voice to sound completely indistinguishable from a human voice is another story. I personally wish it would remain differentiable forever, but there's no real way to enforce that.

>It wasn’t that long ago when Facebook had to get special permission from the government to stay private until they got to $100 billion.

is this true? There was the "Jumpstart Our Business Startups" (JOBS) Act, signed by Obama around that time that changed the maximum number of private investors or whatever, but was special permission given to Facebook?

Not that it matters, but I think it's closer to 600 lbs.

$40M /( $4.5k / oz) and then (1 lbs / 16 oz)

> No wonder they need to lay people off!

He clearly works at Apple, and they aren't laying people off.

> replay of Y2K, where, compared to the warnings, not lot happened

My dad was on one of the many Y2K teams that major tech companies had to make sure nothing went wrong. I feel like history may have undersold what could've been if not for considerable effort leading up to Jan 1, 2000.
