The price is more or less an indicator. If they can shred a $1000 book, kudos to them or their budget.
The idea they're simply shredding human history is too one-sided and alarmist. There is a huge long tail of rare-ish old and scrappy books out there that are definitely not the last copy of anything.
That said, I'm pretty sure a very small % of these books fall into the mistake category. But life!
So they are going into maintenance mode?
Maybe the new SaaS is to build vibe coding (aka conversation) into whatever you’re offering.
I bought Tailwind UI, now Plus a couple of years ago. I've also dabbled with a Claude skill that scrapes a "UI block" source from the site and transforms it into a Rails view component. Maybe there's a way to make Plus and LLMs work together rather than compete?
I think their recent push to delegate to CLI agents in the agent panel is the right direction. Claude Code has been running in Zed for the past month. Sure, there are SDK limitations and kinks to iron out, but it’s moving quickly. I’m into it.

It’s no longer there, I think?
Just speculating, but the server is probably throwing 429 (Too Many Requests) errors, and yes, the client should respect and back off when it encounters that. According to the post, it seems not to. Strange!
They appear to have never been used!
This is a tricky subject, and I’m certainly not expert on this, but my understanding is that where a company is resident depends on where its central management and control are based. So if you are the sole director of a UK registered company but reside in the Netherlands, your company is tax resident in the latter. However, if your board are majority in the UK, hold meetings there, etc. your company is resident there, even if you reside in the Netherlands. Then, if you don’t pay income tax on your foreign income in the latter (the 30% expat deal), you effectively pay no personal income tax on whatever you earn through the UK company.
That part is tongue in cheek. Cute and smart.
Don't these end up in separate mixes, though? My 13 year old makes a lot of grime requests on road trips etc. and now I have a separate grime mix under my top mixes.
That unfortunately doesn't solve it. There will always be moments where kids will want to ask for songs on your Spotify, like you're renting a car and have your phone hooked up.

Everybody is now talking about NYT buying Wordle. Not that they would care about the cost as such, but they already seem to have recouped it, in my opinion.
Googling this took me to the electrifyingly long Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft.
It seemingly won’t even render properly here, at least on my iPhone.

Metabase is great for querying and visualising your data but won’t help you collect input like Google Forms, which sounds like what the OP is after.
A word that probably should exist
But they appear to be already operating in other non-EU settings. What would make the UK any different?
Wetransfer, the competition this seems to be directly aimed at, also has a rich, designy aesthetic.
A very abrupt turn (in London). Just a couple of weeks ago, they announced two-week rentals, and now they’re leaving.
I mean displaying from the point of view of you walking or driving. It simply shows a birds-eye view (unless I'm somehow glossing over a toggle somewhere?).
Issues I have with Apple Maps: no cycling directions and, to a lesser degree, overall slightly-worse-quality and less intuitive visuals, like lacking first-person point-of-view or not updating starting point and estimates if I move when displaying directions.
Of course, there's an element of me having gotten too much used to Google Maps in some of this.
Printed media can have ads. So should digital media?
That said, I wish digital media stopped wholesale delegating the work of serving ads to third parties and had proper control over experience and privacy—what is delivered how and who tracks whom.
