Re:Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen on Monday November 02, 2026 @05:22PM (#50344784)
Yes, I built this tooling harness around blender, unreal etc. It’s doing a lot of the heavy lifting it learned through trial and error. Best results are Claude driving it, but even local models are serviceable. I find codex makes a more toy like look and feel.
Re:Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen on Monday November 02, 2026 @05:10PM (#50344618)
Claude Opus 5.5 is creating most of this and actually performs better than Codex with my testing. https://exarostudio.com/

Forgot the sarcasm tag. These are minor corrections

Ah, the old AI psychosis that makes one believe their prompting skills are unique and future proof. Been there myself.
Like they did with software engineers
They've done the same thing to software engineers.
Nobody is going to buy your AI vide coded slop.
Re:Astra for Law on Thursday September 17, 2026 @04:50PM (#49746374)
I used ChatGPT the other day to resink a CPU with termal paste, replace a PSU in my PC and snake my kitchen sink from the wall. I didn't exactly need it's help but wanted someone looking over my shoulder so to speak. It can help you repair all types of stuff, but as far as county / building codes and such, that probably isn't far off. It seems to understand things quite well.
Re:Astra for Law on Thursday September 17, 2026 @04:42PM (#49746263)
I already use them for that, they are pretty excellent at it. Much better than the terms of use generator products that used to exist. That said, nobody cares to sue your business for the most part until you're big enough to be worth it. By that time, you'll have a team of legal analyst to assist you... or agents should I say.

Then again, nobody will have money to buy anything at this rate, so in all liklihood, this is a total non-issue.

Re:Astra for Law on Thursday September 17, 2026 @04:41PM (#49746244)
People that are saying OpenAI is screwed because a lack of profit, I'm not of that opinion. They are encroaching on every industry they can. They have name brand recognition, a huge user base and are showing they can be a valuable tool to all types of businesses.

As much as I hate to see it. They are now threatening industries like Engineers, Game Developers, Accountants, 3D modelers, 3D animators, Video Production, Audio Production, Therapist, Tax Auditors, Journalists, Authors, Artists, Mathematicians, Product managers, Every type of analyst and pretty much any other job that can be done behind a computer screen.

We have big problems for humanity.

Re:Show HN: Share your AI Setup, Learn from others on Thursday September 17, 2026 @01:54PM (#49744271)
Serious question, why? Nobody gives a fuck if I'm out of a job, especially OpenAI and Anthropic. They stole the worlds knowledge to put us out of a job and arguably took away what it means to be a human. Why should I contribute anything more to that?

Solving hard problems will be the only thing that separates you from others. Your mindset and tools should be a trade secret at this point.

Re:Show HN: Share your AI Setup, Learn from others on Thursday September 17, 2026 @01:48PM (#49744183)
This is true. I also think part of your job security will be constantly racing on this treadmill to make sure you're able to incorporate that next model (if applicable). Meaning incorporate your tools, existing knowledge, harnesses, configs etc...
Re:Show HN: Share your AI Setup, Learn from others on Thursday September 17, 2026 @01:43PM (#49744102)
20 year industry vet here. Yeah, no thank you. In the age of AI, developer productivity and job security will involve your proprietary workflow. It no longer makes sense to share your knowledge with the world.

I'd highly advise people don't do this.

Re:OpenAI might have stolen another major proof on Thursday September 10, 2026 @04:27PM (#49649727)
Of course they are doing this. Local models is the only way around this.
Re:Cursor launches Origin, GitHub alternative on Wednesday August 19, 2026 @09:48AM (#49361576)
I want nothing to do with Cursor or Elon Musk, so no thank you, no questions here.
Re:Understanding is the new bottleneck on Friday August 14, 2026 @10:02AM (#49298822)
I'd fire you for having that blanket attitude. People haven't truly known how shit works in this industry for the entire fucking time. People are following patterns set out by arrogant pricks for reasons they don't know or care to know, they are just following orders.

That said, someone, somewhere in the chain should understand how the system works. I agree there.

Re:Understanding is the new bottleneck on Friday August 14, 2026 @09:50AM (#49298676)
Yeah, but in the corporate world now, you're being judged by how fast you get shit checked in. So, if you need to understand every line these days... you're going to end up in the bottom 25% of the company pretty quickly. Not saying you're wrong, just saying how fucked things are becoming.
Hmmm... the mods already took this off the front page. What a bunch of bullshit.
Honestly, the entire dev community should save question and answers, uploaded them to a shared repo anonymously, then just use that data to distill further models and provide them to the public for free.

Theoretically, this should be legal and ethical, when comparing to Anthropic's own behavior. That said, the reason you can't is Anthropic states in their terms that they don't want you to do this.

Anthropic's entire business model is skating on thin ice.

So basically, this entire conversation and article is summed up by 6 in one hand and a half dozen in the other in regards to this method vs traditional SPA's.
Meh, it's pretty terrible. Fraction of the amount of requests the other providers give you as well.
Re:AI makes programming differently difficult on Saturday July 25, 2026 @08:09PM (#49053197)
The tools do a shit job at that final 20% of a project. An absolutely shitty job.

That page is going to give me a seizure.
Re:$100 AI Music Video: Claude Fable 5 vs. GPT-5.6 Sol on Thursday July 16, 2026 @10:44PM (#48942832)
It's sickening we're running out of compute for this shit lol. I don't blame the author though, it is what it is.
Re:$100 AI Music Video: Claude Fable 5 vs. GPT-5.6 Sol on Thursday July 16, 2026 @10:43PM (#48942826)
These videos are awful.
Honestly, more like being a CEO / CTO that manages a ton of agents and these dumb fucks go off the rails at times and have to be yelled at. It's like herding cats. I've created (AI) entire harness systems, Electron apps, mobile app, SaaS products, video games, MCP servers and more.

Many of these things seem like they have the possibility of being their own products, but honestly, I'm just tired and burned out. I'm mostly building this stuff to remain relevant and prepared to pivot when the inevitable layoff comes. This layoff will come, for the same reason I'm able to create all this shit. CTO's and CEO's think this stuff will really work.

What the C-Suite doesn't know is... this is a fucking disaster waiting to happen. At some point the realization will come, that you have no moat. You have no unique ideas. If you do, they are easily copied. You're also giving over your IP to a company that is losing a fuck ton of money and will keep raising their prices. Worst of all, nobody including yourself will understand what your code is doing or forgetting to do. I foresee a bleak future.

I've had a decent amount of success in this industry. My plan is to ride this shit storm and see where it takes me, or do my best to help bring the entire system crashing down. By that, I mean, I'll release / contribute free and open source software, which mimics every business model that doesn't have a legal or financial moat. For instance... Slack, Miro, Shopify, the million AI wrapper products that are springing up every month etc.

This article is probably not accurate. AI allows me to create hugely complex apps. Apps that I mostly don't understand the underlying code but can evaluate that it works fairly quick and effectively.

That said, in the corporate world, it's not that easy. There are tons of hoops to jump through and context switching all day long. So while my code is 100% AI generated these days, and I can make extremely complicated apps quickly at home, at work however, I'm burned out and completely checked out for the most part, entirely due to AI.

We don't have the same capabilities to burn tokens in the corporate world like we do at home. We don't have the creative freedoms we have at home. AI productivity is just not easily measured.

Damn, that is depressing. What a shitshow we've created.
