Not to mention we brazilians have been bombarded with fast-food joints in the past few years. My little hometown with no more than 90k habitants got its first Subway. And last year the first Taco Bell in the country came to São Paulo. This is the only one I would miss actually, as I've had enough from the traditional fast-food places.
Maybe having one's future life at stake plays a role in one's effectiveness in practicing?

No more $5 dollar books by registering as a 'print-book owner'?
Re:Candy Japan crosses $10K MRR on Sunday June 29, 2014 @03:54PM (#7962166)
Hi Bemmu, congratulations.

Do you have any costumers in Brazil? What are the delivery times? Do they report anything relating to this, and import duties? I'm almost subscribing.

Re:How to handle big repositories with Git on Thursday May 22, 2014 @10:45PM (#7787745)
Would Android's `repo` be a good solution to this?
Re:Lyft Plus on Thursday May 08, 2014 @04:02PM (#7717346)
Got so tired of this that I have reactivated mine, but I don't use it except for these logins.

Waze but for supermarket prices.
Re:Ask HN: Idea Sunday on Sunday April 20, 2014 @01:32PM (#7617647)
How would you keep track of the ideas that have been implemented/are being worked on? User-submitted?

What can the child do once he starts to ask himself what the hell is wrong with him, and little by little, starts to associate some wrongs with his childhood? Is it possible to revert bad parenting?
Re:The C++ Programming Language (4th Edition) on Saturday May 11, 2013 @10:11PM (#5692847)
Is his C+11 FAQ enough if I've read the third edition?
Re:Unix tricks on Thursday March 07, 2013 @03:40PM (#5340058)
If you work with something like this

  /this/is/some/very/nested/directory/
and you need to move to almost the same structure

  /this/be/some/very/nested/directory/
then you might benefit from

  function bcd {
    cd ${PWD/$1/$2}
  }
Re:Bitcoin reaches an all-time trading high of over $33 on Thursday February 28, 2013 @06:24AM (#5298160)
Is there any research on the bitcoin generation algorithm?
An interesting response, perhaps you're being downvoted for an English mistake?
Re:Is speed reading really possible? on Monday February 25, 2013 @05:33AM (#5278237)
This is called Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_serial_visual_presentatio...). After a few hours (or minutes) you start to identify the drawbacks presented in the wiki.

There's no way to get a filtered feed (I couldn't find one), so I suggest: http://feedhint.com/
Re:A better Android emulator on Wednesday October 10, 2012 @12:56PM (#4637177)
I'm assuming 'this' is any emulated device and not specifically Manymo (which I haven't tried -- I keep getting the "Fail Droid"). But there are plenty: you can't test bluetooth, get network state, check battery status, and other things.

But emulators are ok to test your layouts, even though the latest ADT plugin makes it much simpler with layout previews.

Re:Quit My Job For Consulting: Two Months Later on Monday September 24, 2012 @05:52PM (#4567220)
You'll only have trouble with unbillable hours if you, well, bill by the hour.
Re:Start Hacking With Java 8 on Friday September 21, 2012 @02:03PM (#4554882)
Which will be fine once Android starts supporting Java 7.
Re:The End of Indie Game Development on Android on Saturday August 11, 2012 @10:06PM (#4371589)
I've always wondered, what would happen to Google's 30% cut if they implemented promo codes, and I used it to send a few copies of my paid app?
Re:Instant splash pages for iOS apps on Thursday August 09, 2012 @01:40PM (#4362201)
Does anyone know a similar app for Android landing pages?
Re:Design Tip: Never Use Black on Wednesday August 08, 2012 @04:19PM (#4357851)
Upvoting so it can still look #000.
Re:Managing Email Realistically on Sunday August 05, 2012 @09:44PM (#4343364)
I can see the system working the author, but not for everyone. Actually, the "Reply within 24h" for clients is terrible advice, in my experience: if you take long enough to reply, they will call you, and this call might last forever. It takes only a few seconds (with GMail/GApps shortcuts) to reply "Ok, investigating the issue."

I read somewhere that you should delete e-mail from people that are e-mailing you for the first time and/or you feel it's not going anywhere. If they really want to contact you/need your help, they will send a second e-mail. And that e-mail is worth a reply.

Re:How to Write a Malcolm Gladwell Book on Sunday August 05, 2012 @02:08PM (#4342100)
Just browsed some of the comics, and between Gladwell's popularity and smbc's, I take the former.
