Re:Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen on Monday November 02, 2026 @07:11PM (#50346182)
So their weights are in their weights? Doesn't that double their weights?

There's training, and then there's brain surgery. One of those you don't want a parent / teacher doing to you.
Right, and while that might be working out for you right now, there is a finite budget that companies have for projects like that. The "zero financial payoff" framing sounds about right to me.
But if everyone's taking on more projects... where do all the new projects come from? And wouldn't it just lower the value of each project?
The question is: how does any of that translate into more revenue? If you try more ideas and they mostly go nowhere that's not necessarily helpful to the bottom line.
Heh. I didn't notice it when i was a kid, but when I rewatch them it feels overly moralizing.
That's smart, I didn't think of that. You could even actually control a website with turnstile just by telling it to deploy something to workers.
It could get a bit preachy, honestly.
Just out of curiousity, which model did you use and what did you say to convince it to help? I'm pretty sure Claude would have told you to kick rocks.
Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @08:19PM (#50298214)
right but too late to call freeze on the original wallet address as per gp's post. I would imagine it got distributed to many wallets and attempts to tumble by the time Tether could move on it.
Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:56PM (#50297408)
Isn't it already too late at that point? The tokens would have moved already.

Headed for Davey Jones' Locker.
I live in a place that gets typhoons, but there's probably only one big enough to rip my panels off every once in 5 years. Still, you never know which one it will be and I don't look forward to having to taken mine inside for false alarms.

The internet to the rescue. I guarantee you will never be wrong alone.
Re:The 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement is no longer viable on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @07:00AM (#50178863)
My point was that pork can compete with tofu under the right conditions.

Heck, unless you're riding your bike to buy groceries, you will spend more than the extra 1-2 extra kg in gas getting to the supermarket (3-4 miles per kg CO₂e)

Re:The 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement is no longer viable on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @06:15AM (#50178467)
For one thing, many people can't afford to feed their family tofu at supermarket prices.

Also, infra? Poor people just call it their yard.

Re:The 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement is no longer viable on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @06:06AM (#50178396)
It depends on how you do it.

Supermarket tofu is around 3 kg of CO₂e per kg. If you fatten pigs in your backyard and butcher them on site you can get pork down to around 4 or 5. I do realize McDonald's isn't doing it that way though.

Re:The 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement is no longer viable on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @05:50AM (#50178207)
The problem is the people you would need to convince. You'd be selling to people who largely won't care and don't want to be inconvenienced.
They interfered with him trying to steal that election. That doesn't count?

There's a video of Vietnamese fish farmers on the side of the screen that clearly relates to this story but I don't speak Vietnamese so I guess I just have to wonder how.
The most impressive thing about SerpApi is their legal team. The technical side is all trivial.
Apples to oranges, really. Not many providers are drop-in compatible with SerpApi, serpgrab.com comes to mind.
That just means they have proxies in Pakistan, that's not as impressive as you're making it sound.
$1 with Serper, and it gets lower with volume. I thought I remembered Serp Api being higher than that. They do have a decent free tier
Solar is full on hockey-sticking in that "share of generation by source" graph. That's a beautiful thing to see.
Re:Suicide rates highest ever among middle-aged men on Thursday October 15, 2026 @01:44AM (#50099674)
I mean if you want to get all Nietzsche about it, then suicide is no longer a permanent solution.
Re:Suicide rates highest ever among middle-aged men on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:40PM (#50098845)
What I really don't like is to hear people who aren't struggling with it, to call someone else's on-going struggle "a temporary problem".
Re:Do dentists know what they're doing? on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @07:28PM (#50097048)
Since we're sharing anecdotes, I had a guy who couldn't pull my wisdom teeth. He really got in there with the pliers, got his leg up on the chair for leverage and was really yanking on it but it wouldn't give. He was a big guy too, really broke a sweat.

Finally he gave up but first he tried to talk me into going into a hospital for more heavy duty anesthetic. I was like nah.

Huh? We already have machines that can understand any language from a sample.

Re:Worlds More Habitable Than Earth? They're Out There on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @06:35PM (#50079885)
At least it's soundproof though. There's nothing worse than having to hear your neighbors bicker.
