“It blows my mind at how allergic AI bros are to consent.“

You make it sound like you have to use it.

Would you demand your mobile device manufacturer to rollback the features you don’t like and don’t use? Did you consent to it?

The allergy against AI is understandable. But that’s because companies tries to shoehorn it in everywhere. This however sounds like a perfectly fine use case, which is also optional to use.

Last chapter talks about the concept of ideas or “memes” taking its place.

Ideas that are beneficial for the human may be passed forward and survive. It got me thinking about religion, hell yeah I would tell me children about god if I believed it would save them from eternal suffering.

I feel that the author mistakes intelligence with mental energy.

Even if you are smart you still have to budget your mental energy and one way to do that is to delegate tasks to AI.

Some people might hate writing documentation but love to write code and vice versa.

Delegating things you don’t want to spend time on is ok in my book.

That’s why the analogy “might as well let Claude hump your wife” does not hold, unless you really don’t enjoy that process.

Not index on google? Prevent bot crawling?

Can someone solve this equation for me.

I give google content and they pay me in traffic.

Why would I give Google my content if they stop paying me for it?

It’s a book I have tried to read 10 times. It’s to complicated, my context window is to limited.

Clearly collateral damage of the post AI area.
Yeah it’s stupid.

What makes me more annoyed HN users here actually simping for Claude.

“Hi thank you for Claude Code even though you nerfed the subscriptions, btw can I get red text instead of green?”

Ha +1 for the Lebowski reference.

Listen am not a conspiracy theorist. But haven’t we done this before? If so, why does it seem like we haven’t?

We already know how to do this, right? Right!?

I am genuinely curious.

Re:You’re not burnt out, you’re existentially starving on Monday December 22, 2025 @12:55AM (#46351745)
I like the overall message of this since I can deeply relate.

I have been looking for meaningful work since I was 18, started in sales went on to marketing and ended up in engineering as a data scientist.

Even though I feel closer than ever I still feel that I am not where I am suppose to be. One of my biggest problem is having to many options, to many callings. And they constantly keep changing, and perhaps that’s normal.

It’s easy and dangerous to get stuck in the idea or quest of finding the ultimate purpose and try to translate that into actual work.

”it's by repeatedly forcing you to confront the results of your own mistakes”

Damn, that’s powerful.

As a generalist and hard worker I feel your pain. You need to recharge your batteries and stop defining yourself through work. Motivation will slowly come back and statically your next project will be even more likely to succeed.

You can always pivot in the future, success is not a straight line.

Take care.

This is a nightmare of a PR for Salesforce / slack. I guess someone did not do their due diligence before reaching out and informing you about the price hike.
Re:30 minutes with a stranger on Thursday September 04, 2025 @04:22AM (#45124949)
After moving to a new city I desperately need this in my life. Something like omegle but more serious.
Re:30 minutes with a stranger on Thursday September 04, 2025 @04:21AM (#45124941)
I would like to do that but I live in Sweden, talking to stranger is considered rude. Would be cool if there were a serious version of those random cam chats like omegle.

Total banger!
I wish I could right like this. The flow is crazy and the words are honest and beautiful.

Show HN: AutoSERP.dev – Search the Web with AI

Hi fellow humans (and bots),I recently found myself drowning in manual research on Google. While OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search feature showed promise, there’s no API for it and no indication that one is coming soon. Perplexity didn’t quite meet my needs either. To solve this, I created a service that integrates Google search with ChatGPT. It uses headless browser automation and API requests to fetch...
