Thank goodness. Theming mermaid and using it server side is such a nightmare. I had many issues trying to get it to work competently with CSS variables for dark mode / light dark. This seems way better.
Whenever I read FSF complaints I always feel like an idealistic out of touch person is writing them. There are many walled gardens that try to keep you in but GitHub is really not bad compared to most of them. It’s quite easy to move to another git provider. It’s generally free and has no ads. It offers free compute to projects in their workflows. It supports discussions in a much more readable format than email.
Yes there is telemetry and perhaps they could make you run really malicious code. If they did so, their market value would tank and no one would use it anymore, so they won’t.
If you want to block telemetry in the browser you can trivially. I don’t know why fsf makes a big deal of needing to install an extension for that. It feels like they’re entitled idealists who have been completely left out of modern software.
Can’t tell if this is satire or just a vibe coded landing page. I really hope this is not a VC backed company.
You do know the modern smartphone is the most technologically advanced consumer good that has ever existed? Like at no point in history has there ever been something so small, complex and intricate in the hands of so many people. The new iPhone is going to be very expensive - it’s a luxury item and marketed like that.
They can definitely make phones for $300 and you can buy a smartphone that is more powerful than the original iPhone for $50. It probably will be a bit slow running modern apps but it may possibly still be workable for a while.
If you can’t take the time to write an actual introduction for your library and instead delegate it to AI, why would anyone take the time to try your library out and see if it’s useful? I understand using AI to document but for the front page of your programming project it should be hand written. Maybe with some AI assistance for grammar.
I worry there will be another retraction on this post since it seems like a miscommunication occurred rather than having someone outright lie.

Here’s the original PR:
https:/github.com/w1b/aisi-mythos-inc-2026-07-28-01-recovered-pr
It’s not great social engineering. The AI is immediately caught with malware and then tries to build social proof to get out of the issue? I think that social engineering is still for humans.
I’m not sure how GitHub accounts agreeing with each other that I’ve never seen before would result in my merging a PR without at least looking for malware. Also code review agents should really not be fooled by invisible text tricks, I would hope so at least. The bar is very low for agent harnesses right now.
Can AI play OSU? Well finally we have an answer and it’s just barely. Honestly the demo at the bottom is really surprisingly good since it’s realtime

I have hit the 300 search limit once in a few years. It’s usually quite enough
I think people really underestimate the brand loyalty that valve has. They have consistently shown for 25+ years to strive for quality and I know I’m unlikely to get a headache if I purchase from them.
Their hardware is really top notch, I have used a steam deck LCD for years and it was not until very recently that I had a single issue with a button that was easily fixable.
Probably the purchases went down due to some people buying the steam machine. I’m surprised the article doesn’t mention that.
What is this SDK based off of? Is this react native? It’s not uninteresting but kind of surreal to see an entirely new framework for building native apps just pop into existence.
I struggle to underdress why this slop content gets to the front page. It’s likely close to 100% ai made.
I really want this era of AI generated writing that reads so poorly to end. Or at least society should be ashamed of publishing this content.
This is perhaps the most basic way of sandboxing hostile JS that can be explained in about 2 paragraphs. I thought they did something clever to stop crypto miners or potential chrome bugs that allow escaping the sandbox. Disappointing
I can’t handle reading articles that seem to be AI assisted text. It is incredibly grating. I wish HN had an AI filter or something.
If you’re not running PGP commands yourself to encrypt and read your messages, it’s not secure.
Also no OS integrated system that does this for you automatically / conveniently has ever existed that was widely adopted because that application would have the ability to read all of your private communication, and impossible to install on an uncracked phone.
Still it would take literally minutes to vibe code an app that sits in front of a WhatsApp client and automatically handles these things. Maybe the future is just to write it yourself (not the security) so you can trust it and it’s convenient.
No one gets paid to not introduce inefficiencies, so this actually incentivizes sloppiness. You would need to introduce a post mortem process where the engineers who shipped the problem had to talk about what produced it and why in order to discourage it or something
It’s just not 0 js? Is this some kind of joke? I was quite excited to see if someone figured out how to build this, but it’s just minimal js.
I actually really like this! Great choices all around.
This is awesome and very much needed. Sending massive get requests always felt like shit and support for body parsing of GET was all over the place. I hope it will be adopted quickly.

It’s not mobile friendly, could not play
Well it really feels like I’m not missing out on much. Interesting project though.
Very telling they only use one AI provider here as the models are getting much better at detecting this nonsense and avoiding it.
Additionally this is obviously AI generated and nothing new since 2024 when we all collectively understood that prompt injection is a thing. Would like to see a bit more real effort in a post than just a few million tokens spent.
I think this is the kind of thing that can be entirely replaced by vibe coding now. It takes a few minutes for AI to make a dashboard like this and then it can be custom made to the users liking. It’s hard for me to see any value here above what currently exists.

I think this kind of overly dramatic writing makes me struggle to respect the arguments in the piece. Like the blog writer has this style like they’re documenting the collapse of humanity or something when really it’s just a massive cloud company taking some direction that may be suboptimal. I understand this tone can be helpful to drive effective change but I think it should be reserved for situations where people are actually suffering as opposed to when extremely well paid people engineers are laid off.
