Last.fm still continues to scrobble because it's a preferences setting not a client plugin(?)

But the Last.fm plugin no longer works: https://open.spotify.com/app/lastfm

Re:Project Euler is offline on Monday June 16, 2014 @04:55PM (#7901429)
From the homepage:

"Due to the discovery of a serious security issue a decision was made on Sunday 15 June 2014 to take down the website. The full extent of the issue is still being investigated but in an attempt to be as honest as possible to our members we must make you aware that we have reason to suspect that all or parts of the database may have compromised. Passwords at Project Euler are strongly encrypted using a one-way hash, but if you use the same password at other websites then it is strongly advised that you change it. We are extremely sorry for this inconvenience. At this time we can provide no more information and there is no indication when Project Euler will return."

Doesn't it say 26T which is $706,675.75 USD?

`With the bar set at 11 trillion ISK in damages during the battle of B-R5RB on Tranquility in January, Serenity went ahead and smashed that record, almost doubling the ISK value of hulls destroyed at an astonishing 26 trillion ISK worth of damage.`

In terms of a modern day 'Wave' I don't understand why I had to find out about Slack https://slack.com/ from a Quartz article: http://qz.com/192948/slack-the-best-way-to-organize-your-bus...

Re:An open source Google Reader replacement: Sismics Reader on Wednesday June 26, 2013 @12:16PM (#5946956)
Sorry about posting here. Couldn't find a bug report link on your website:

wheezy/sid (Really Mint Linux but whatever)

openjdk-7-jre:i386

$ sudo dpkg -i reader-1.1.1.deb

dpkg: error processing reader-1.1.1.deb (--install):

parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/control' near line 2 package 'reader':

error in Version string '${reader.version}': version number does not start with digit

Errors were encountered while processing: reader-1.1.1.deb

Hope that helps.

Another (Wordpress) website failing horribly under load after receiving the attention they so desperately desired.

And the failure just dumps the MySQL error on the front page.

Not terribly inspiring.

Re:Learn hubot the hard way on Sunday August 05, 2012 @06:54PM (#4342938)
If you setup Hubot to use Freenode then be aware that you'll want to set:

heroku config:add HUBOT_IRC_UNFLOOD="false"

Otherwise just running /hubot help will flood the channel and it'll get kicked.

Re:It's 2012, HTML5 is awesome, and I'm surfing a PDF on Monday May 28, 2012 @05:33AM (#4032640)
Irony alert: Database overload for an article on lightweight websites.

Ask HN: Server logging. Is it just me that sucks?

I set up another LAMP (Limux Apache MySQL PHP) server today. I've set up dozens. I've never really made 'logging' work like it should. It's not just the stack though. It's all logging. 1600 emails today from lfd. With all these security screwups, why is it so hard to do what should be a trivial task?

I just signed up to http://math.stackexchange.com today to ask a question and ended getting a lesson from a guy who had answered my question but invited me into chat to fully explain it.

So awesome.

Hey, fuck you Verge. I'm reading this heart wrenching story and then suddenly "Boo Hoo! This video can't be played with your current setup".

Way to fuck up.
