I am well mistaken -- TIL!

(forgive me -- i probably should have used 'command line' instead of 'ms-dos'. it's just that ms-dos was my introduction to computers, and so felt like the 'beginning of all time' of systems to me.)

It should've included another 100 years to catalogue and showcase the devolvement towards kindergarten handwriting.

Wholly agree with you -- in fact I think we're at a turning point in smartphones catching up to being full fledged computers.

I've written some thoughts about this previously, if you would care for a detailed elaboration: https://guan.sg/apples-2017/

Absolutely agree. I find myself frustrated with using iOS Safari when opening a tab in the background - the animation has to finish before I can resume browsing the current page.

I also frequently think back to the OS we had on the Nokia 3310 generation of phones; how easy it was to navigate to exactly what you needed (with shortcuts like menu button > keypad 3 > keypad 2 or something like that). There were no animations to slow down that navigation either.

I've put together a simple moving average analysis that lets me analyse my nutrition/bodyweight history in two things I find useful:

1. measuring how consistent I've been with my calories/macros (blue line), compared to the targets I've set (white line),

2. extract my averaged bodyweight values so that I don't get hung up on singular ups and downs.

I'd love to pick your brains and hear suggestions on what other types of data analysis might be useful here.

Tangentially related: Are there any characters who are known to maintain an above average level of fitness, while hacking a startup? Fitocracy comes to mind, but if the industry were not related to fitness that would be more impressive. Fitness is one thing I would like to accompany me throughout building a startup in the future - asking too much?
