"I wonder why anyone should do this" - Because you're setting this up for a "technically illiterate" client?
Re:Ask HN: moving my Django app away from GAE, where do I go? on Wednesday March 14, 2012 @06:18AM (#3702508)
Linode has always worked very well for me. You do have to have some basic Linux sysadmin skills, but they have good documentation that should get you on your way, awesome support and it's way cheaper than Heroku or Gondor. So my advice would be: Linode combined with EC2 for storage

It indeed says "From web", which is the standard if you don't provide a source parameter to the API. So it's not that hard :)

Haha that's pretty cool as well! Like an automated Twitter guessing game! :)
Re:Ask HN: What do you think of our new app? FutureTweets.com on Thursday October 30, 2008 @10:42AM (#348724)
You can actually turn that off. It's a preference on your account settings page, and you can override that per scheduled tweet... :)
Re:Ask HN: What do you think of our new app? FutureTweets.com on Thursday October 30, 2008 @10:40AM (#348722)

Didn't know Sendible... looks like they've taken the concept to the max. Interesting! Thanks for the link
Re:Ask HN: What do you think of our new app? FutureTweets.com on Thursday October 30, 2008 @07:56AM (#348632)
Whoops! Haven't thought of that... you mean they have a limit on their API use?

Might have to build in a schedule-tweet-maximum then...

Ask HN: What do you think of our new app? FutureTweets.com

We launched http://futuretweets.com the day before yesterday. It's a small Twitter app build in Django that lets you schedule your Twitter messages. Send it at a specific time in the future or send a reoccuring Tweet daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.I'm really interested in what you guys think of it (design, functionality etc)Cheers! J

Make it free and develop a iPhone app people can buy. Or limit the free version and ask a (small) amount for the premium services...

Re:Ask YC: MacBook Black vs. MacBook Air on Tuesday June 03, 2008 @06:18AM (#207792)
walterk does have a point... but it's pretty ok... i bought a "crumpler" keyboard protector with it, which can also be used to wipe the screen and "grease" of the surface
Re:Ask YC: MacBook Black vs. MacBook Air on Thursday May 29, 2008 @02:19AM (#203052)
I faced the same choice last month and went for the Macbook black. Mainly because of the better specs for a lower price.
Over here in Holland, Macs are definitely becoming more and more popular. Not sure about the rest of europe though, but my guess is that it's the same all over europe...
