Re:My Humble Opinion on 'Omarchy' OS on Thursday September 24, 2026 @12:59PM (#49833539)
This is a political hate article masquerading as a review of a Linux distort.
It's important to remember this was only over 10 positions so while the overall amount seems low, the per-position fine was pretty high.
Re:Apple targets OpenAI employees with legal letters on Friday July 17, 2026 @10:03AM (#48947523)
Agreed. Very wary of OpenAI these days.

That's never been Apple's playbook with lawsuits at least.

And make it run locally!

I've been using tools in the OpenAI SDK with voice for well over a year now.

Just super difficult.

Re:SWE-1.7 Reach Near GPT 5.5 and Opus Intelligence on Wednesday July 08, 2026 @01:17PM (#48834565)
I use this model. It's pretty good but not Opus 4.8 or Fable levels obviously. I'm really hoping we get more models like it (and better) soon. I run it locally and it's great that way.
Should domestic workers not be surveilled while doing their job?

I get the threat of pervasive AI but this hardly seems like it.

Re:U.S. government will decide who gets to use GPT-5.6 on Friday June 26, 2026 @03:22PM (#48690833)
HN is the most manipulated front page on the internet.
Re:U.S. government will decide who gets to use GPT-5.6 on Friday June 26, 2026 @03:16PM (#48690768)
Exactly.
Misdirection
Removed from the front page as it should be as this violates YC submission rules.
Article from the NYT with a vested interest in making the admin look bad = doubt
Get this bullshit political hit piece off my feed.
Is it me or is this happening more and more frequently?
Re:Bluesky April 2026 Outage Post-Mortem on Friday April 10, 2026 @02:43PM (#47722035)
Did all 3 users notice?
It is. I am a fractional CTO running my own consulting business and I make 3-5x as much as I ever did working for one company. And all my clients are very happy.
Why don't companies realize the more you pay a highly skilled worker, the more you get out of them?

Tech companies seem to get it but so few others do, including startups.

I usually have 1/3rd the staff I'd normally need but I hire top tier people at 2x what most startups pay. In the end I save money.

Yep, this is a no from me.
"Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, or celebrities, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic."

They've been covering all of this on TV news.

Yeah, I'm not trusting some app like that randomly on my computer.
What in the hell does this have to do with technology? Violates HN's post rules.
JFC. This does not belong on HN. Look at the discussion. Nothing but politics.
Re:Delve – Fake Compliance as a Service on Friday March 20, 2026 @07:01AM (#47452938)
How does this not reach the front page?
Re:Layoffs at Block on Thursday February 26, 2026 @10:43PM (#47176214)
That has not been my experience.
It's amazing how far companies will go to not pay their best talent appropriately.
