grovr

It doesn't capture the entire page, just whatever you drag a box around and you have to do the box drawing yourself so that part is not automatic. I could add a button to capture the entire visible page, but it would only be able to capture what is visible on your screen (i.e. not stuff that you can't see because you haven't scrolled to it) because of the limitations of the Chrome Extension API

I can't seem to find the link anymore but recently a tool was released which let me downgrade my iPad 2 back to iOS 6 and it's so much faster than it was on iOS 8. Obviously it's not an official Apple tool.

I think the first and fourth points are applicable to unit tests in general rather than just TDD.

For the first point, I'm reluctant to make large-scale changes to code which doesn't have lots of unit tests because the unit tests give me confidence in what the behaviour of the system should be.

Certainly the third point is something I try to bear in mind when doing TDD. I've found that having someone do a code review after a feature is complete gives someone the opportunity to come in from that high level and look at the program as a whole and check that your design makes sense.

With regards to "juice is bad", here is a BMJ article which appears to validate that belief at least with regards to type 2 diabetes: http://www.bmj.com/content/347/bmj.f5001 Specifically: From the conclusion "Greater consumption of specific whole fruits, particularly blueberries, grapes, and apples, is significantly associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, whereas greater consumption of fruit juice is associated with a higher risk."

My brother did this including 2 trips on cargo ships, one across the Pacific and one across the Atlantic. He's got a blog with information on the trips here: http://noflytripping.com/

Software Engineers - ONSITE, Cardiff, South Wales, UK - Sorenson Media

We're looking to hire great Software Engineers regardless of specific technology background, who are happy to work on the full stack. Teams at Sorenson Media are empowered to autonomously make their own decisions about technology and "how" to do things, our Product Owner is also very open to listening to suggestions on "what" to do. Unit tests, integration tests, build servers and continuous integration are the backbone of our development practices. Developers get the chance to work on all parts of the product and you could find yourself working on backend code talking to the database as part of the same story where you also work on front-end Javascript and SCSS. We work in an Agile fashion with 2 week sprints and a real focus on using the fortnightly retrospectives to come up with ideas to try out in future sprints to see if they help us make our customers happier. As a team we have chosen to use Node.js for our server side components, backed by a MongoDB database. We encourage developers to help write integration tests and those are written in Ruby. Most of the people we've hired have little or no previous experience in these technologies and we train people up with a combination of time set aside for self-study and pair programming.

We're looking for multiple engineers from mid to senior levels so I can't specify specific salaries but I think they tend to be higher than most other Cardiff companies.

We're hiring developers for our Spark Engage product: http://www.sorensonmedia.com/spark/engage/

If any of this sounds interesting then feel free to contact me at [email protected] with any questions, CVs, github profiles etc.

Thanks - Matt, Scrum Master at Sorenson Media

We're looking to hire multiple Software Engineers for roles which will be mostly writing Javascript, both server side (Node.js) and client side. You do not need any Javascript experience to apply (we've hired many people without it) we find it easier to teach good engineers Javascript then to teach Javascript developers good software engineering skills.

We're hiring developers for our Spark Enhance product: http://www.sorensonmedia.com/spark/enhance/

We work in an Agile environment with daily Scrums, Retrospectives and 2 week sprints (though some teams have been experimenting with Kanban) and a real focus on the Engineering department owning the Engineering processes which means you get to spend your time writing code and have the autonomy to try changes to the processes and see if they work.

We're looking for multiple engineers with a range of experience levels (from recent grads to Senior Developers) so I can't specify specific salaries but I think they tend to be higher than most other Cardiff companies.
