We're building out our marketing technology platform (http://www.getchute.com/) that is used by Coke, Condé Nast, Starbucks, Benefit, Vogue, ESPN, NBC, NYT among others, as well as many independent developers. We work with the latest technologies and <3 open source (https://github.com/chute). Our product makes it easy to analyze a large volume of images and videos from Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to discover the best, most-interesting content for our customers and then enable them to use great images in their own marketing.

For our backend, we use Ruby/Rails/Sinatra, and Python on the data science front (with some Go). We're running on AWS, Postgres, Mongo, Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka + Storm. On the frontend we're using React/Flux/ES6.

We're looking for:

Frontend engineers

Fullstack engineers

AI engineers

Re:EcoMom Founder Jody Sherman Has Passed Away on Tuesday January 29, 2013 @12:20PM (#5135094)
Jody was a great guy and an inspiration for all of us who believed in what we were building, in spite of what everyone else had to say.

I was lucky enough to know him for several years and always walked away the better for it.

He'll be missed.

Just was reading GoDaddy's DNS is down - which explains a lot.
I wonder if it's some weird DNS thing. It's running on a free heroku instance.

I can see it from our office. Maybe with www?

http://www.picsofwords.com/

Something was goofy in the blog post but we fixed it. Here's a few with images:

Thanks! We really love the implementation you've done and are glad that this small part of our platform is helping folks use their photos in new and interesting ways.
While I hope we're a fun place to work, I'm even more concerned with building a scalable platform and a profitable business.

Avatars are just one of the many ways we're helping serve media for developers, brands and publishers. Fortunately, many of these same folks are also now using our API and other services, which we do in fact charge for.

We already support HTTPS for all avatars we serve actually.
We are compliant with the publicly available information so we're not trying to unearth something that can't be determined.
It's been quite surprising actually. We had originally thought that it would be Instagram or direct uploads but it's quite different.

Top Services

1. Twitter 2. Facebook 3. Direct Uploads / New Avatars

Most surprisingly, the largest number of avatars are served via mobile - by a HUGE margin.
