Re:Ask HN: What cloud agents do you use? on Monday August 03, 2026 @02:03AM (#49151753)
if you want some agents that do jobs other than just coding, you might have a look at my product https://conol.ai

it is a cloud agent with a workspace which becomes its context and where its work lands

yes. data safety is one of the most important concern by some enterprises like biotech, finance, legal corprations.

THIS IS SICK! The BGM, the SFX, the visual are all perfect. My favorite is the banner plane, this is really really SF

Most of agentic workloads doesn't require the power of the frontier models like Fable 5 or GPT-5.6 Sol. Instead, the cost and availability is the key. Open weight Chinese models resolved this problem and gain a big share of the market, and of course the political influence
actually i live with my wife and my daughter. we now spend more time doing handcraft together than watching tv.
the fact is what you say depends on who you are if you a Jensen Huang, China is the second biggest market, if not the biggest, for GPUs. but selling NVidia GPUs to China is prohibited by US and China government, which forces Chinese chip makers and AI companies to find their own way. this is definitely a big threat to his business. on the other hand, if you are Sam Altman or Dario. if Chinese AI companies get as much computation resource as they do, with the much lower price of electricity and human labor, they would surpass them for sure.
Re:Chinese AI Researchers Are Finding Their Voice on X on Saturday August 01, 2026 @06:01AM (#49132887)
the point is people need ONE place to discuss AI, and X happens to be an open platform just did the job
guess what. my new apartment doesn't have a tv. my phone, tablet and laptop did the job. it seems tv is no longer the best place to consume media
Re: on Saturday August 01, 2026 @05:09AM (#49132610)
DeepSeek V4 Flash is already a 'usable' model for day-to-day agent work but at a very low cost. I think we can use it for tasks like 'schedule my today's tasks'
nothing new, at least 12~18mo behind tesla, shame on Google
Re:Gpiozero Flow on Thursday July 30, 2026 @10:30PM (#49118361)
i think there are two patterns of programming: control flow, and data flow. this visual programming tool is actually a data flow approach. the good part is, it will be easier to express simple logic. as a tradeoff, it will be awkward to express complex logics
Re:Designing and assembling my first PCB on Monday July 13, 2026 @08:35AM (#48891765)
Did you find out that designing, manufacturing and testing PCBs are very interesting, but also very exhausting. You have quite a lot of repetitive jobs, especially paper work to do.
Re:Optimization Solver as a Service on Saturday July 11, 2026 @08:00PM (#48876999)
looks interesting, how large problem can it solve?
Re:A Road to Lisp: Why Lisp on Thursday July 09, 2026 @10:22PM (#48855017)
Just working a very powerful dynamic workflow feature in my agent product. And guess what, LISP is the one I chose for the generated workflow. LoL
It's a completely new era of software production (I will no longer call it development) LLMs give us unlimited manpower, and the language give us constraints to make more modern and safer softwares. Love to see this rewrite in Rust, and expecting much much more in next few month.
Re:Interview with Mitchell Hashimoto about Ghostty and Zig on Thursday July 09, 2026 @10:10PM (#48854938)
Reading this and Bun's Rust transition blog side by side just gives me a lot fun. I'm a big fan of Rust, and as well as Ghostty. Picking proper programming language is mostly about the product you are making and the problem you are solving. My choice for my robot control system is Rust because I want zero-cost abstraction, no GC jitter, memory safety and avoid race conditions. Then I moved my focus to AI agents and web applications, I pick TypeScript to take advantage of the whole ecosystem and no need to sync between backend and frontend codes. I do not think products like Ghostty could benefit from Rust's memory safety feature a lot, but it do requires more attention to fight against the lifetime checker
