Re:A Marxist Analysis of the iPhone (2019)
on Saturday January 09, 2021 @12:31PM (#25702329)
Yes, it’s incredibly silly and ridiculous. It’s no coincidence that most of the people I know in real life who support socialism also agree with the statement “We’ve already invented everything”.
Meanwhile we are still in the dark ages technology-wise.
Let me know when a worker cooperative assembles the next iPhone from scratch.
Why don’t supporters of socialism assemble worker cooperatives and prove to us they can innovate?

Which turned out to be a bunch of hyped up marketing talk. Why does every person in SV I know seem to love the narrative that we’re being mind controlled by micro-targeted FB ads, which to be fair is what I used to believe.
Everyone on HN switches between “ads don’t work and targeting is BS” to “ads are manipulating our entire country by taking our data”

Wonder if this move will reduce immoral behavior by companies in the cloud if they know their actions are public. Seems perhaps a bit too far but the intentions could be good.

Great hiring move. As someone familiar with Tenstorent after reading that article, I’d just like to say that I agree that the critical members of the company all have backgrounds in silicon design. Really excited to see where they go.

Hmm. Didn’t everyone say the icebergs melting would add to a positive feedback loop of not reflecting sunlight -> more ice melting -> absorbing more sunlight -> repeat?

This is really bad. However I wonder whether it can help stop climate change. Dark blue rivers absorb sunlight whereas a yellow or white river would reflect sunlight.
Re:Startups should say what they mean

Fair point, although anecdotally I’m not sure my startup would have gotten to where it is today had we not integrated blockchain and some ML into our sales pipeline. Customers seem to be fascinated by it, especially enterprise ones.

Shocked that food companies have not gotten into the driverless car space yet. Seems like Chick Fil A could vertically integrate well by acquiring a company like Waymo or DriverAI.

Nope. I think they should probably ask for one at signup. Would also reduce their server load if people only used 1 account instead of making 2+
Re:Telegram publishes users' locations online

It’s a good first step but not enough. I was scammed a while back on Telegram and wish I had been able to also see the persons real identity to recover my money. Location is not enough to go on.
Perhaps TG should publish an API to allow people to see any users government ID if they are scammed.
