So there is a real solution to that problem! Thanks a lot for sharing it
I think they allow importing from Authy but only on rooted phones. I missed the train to move away from Authy in 2024 and now the only non-root option is to regenerate the seed from every provider one by one.
As other commenters said, rooting my main phone would lock me out of banking apps.
I suppose I could find an old phone, sync from authy cloud, root it, and then migrate, but then generating new seeds is probably both safer and faster at that point.
Thanks for the summary. I agree with you about 2FA, but it's still annoying, I was hoping I would find a lazier solution.
Slightly unrelated: is it relatively safe to root android phones nowadays or should I stick to the unrooted standard android?
The reason I'm asking is that I'm stuck with authy as a MFA code app, and would like to move to something that has both desktop and phone support, and my conclusion is I'd need to root my phone to get access to the actual MFA seeds (they don't allow exports to keep you stuck in their app).
I was also thinking that this is almost too good to be true
You made me irrationally laugh reading this
It's partly true: this only applies to consumer cards. That's why many EU banks still offer corporate credit cards with huge cashback etc. For example, revolut offers no cashback in France on their metal cards if you have a consumer account, but up to 1% cashback on the same card if you have a "freelance" account.
https://www.revolut.com/fr-FR/metal/Second thing: interchange fees are not the only fees that your typical store has to pay, the total fees are much higher. I think the EU essentially capped Visa/Mastercard profit in the EU, more than they capped small business fees for card payment.
For those who had access, how does it compare IRL with GLM 5.3 ? iirc both models are similar in terms of benchmarks ?
> Models Are Getting Dumber on Purpose
I know is editorialized, but a more accurate title to this content would be either :
Models Are Getting Ignorant on Purpose
or
Models Are Getting Less Knowledgeable on Purpose
We are already seeing math problems being solved by AI on a weekly basis now. Maybe at some point a breakthrough in math will cause a breakthrough in physics?
It makes me wonder if the model is the limit here or if it's the harness: e.g. give GPT 5.6 or Fable a team of 20 people that can easily interact with the real world and let it do whatever in order to "make a breakthrough" in physics; do you think it would manage to?
good find! This sounds a bit like what Meta was doing with the earlier Llama models?
There is also this paragraph in their licence that is smart marketing-wise:
> 3. If the Software (or any derivative works thereof) is used for any of the
Licensee's commercial products or services that have more than 100 million
monthly active users, or more than 20 million US dollars (or equivalent in other
currencies) in monthly revenue, "Kimi K3" must be prominently displayed on the
user interface of such product or service.
Yes it's true that it's not super clear whether these prices are permanent or short term promotions. On the other hand, there are so many providers making promotional offerings that you could probably easily switch from one to another should their prices go up?
We already know that competition brought GLM 5.2 prices down roughly 45% since its release on June 16th (1.5 months ago), and the price downward slope is probably still going (I've been checking regularly and new providers keep fighting on price, I don't think prices have settled yet). For reference :
https://openrouter.ai/z-ai/glm-5.2#providersI saw arguments like "Providers cannot price less than their costs" in other comments. In economics, it's generally admitted that they shouldn't price less than their marginal costs, i.e. in their case roughly the cost of electricity, since a lot of these datacenters are not at capacity in terms of graphics cards usage (speculation since it's very easy to rent a GC for a couple hours on some providers). My guess is that someone will be selling tokens at less than electricity + depreciation of GCs soon, since there's a lot of competition and "smaller" data centers have overcapacity? This is speculation, correct me if I'm wrong
I have it in france, update all you apps etc.
Yes had the same experience, Sol consumes limits quite fast
I don't see it on the web version either, did you try a hard refresh ?

The message:> Extended: Fable 5 is included in your weekly limit
> Through July 12, you can use up to 50% of your weekly usage limit on Fable 5. If you hit your limit, you can continue on Fable 5 with usage credits. Fable 5 draws down usage faster than Opus 4.8. Run /model and select Fable to use it. Learn more...
I live in fear lol.
More seriously, I was blindly trusting the auto-classifier from claude code (same as the middle option when you do `/permissions` in codex), and it actually allowed the agent to do pretty hardcore `rm` and `git push --force-with-lease` commands, which I would have expected to have to approve manually. Luckily no major issue from those yet.
The best option imo is the integrated cloud environments from claude code (not sure yet if there's a codex equivalent). It spawns a VM in the cloud where the agent runs, and you can open a PR from the app when it's done. Very smooth experience
thanks, it makes sense, I'll stick to max from now on
Anyone else noticed the "Extended: Fable 5 is included in your weekly limit
through July 12 blablabla" disappeared from claude code? Did they panic-delete the july 12th deadline ?
this is so cool: it's playable (even though super boring since there are no enemies) and you can feel that a few iterations would make it very usable.
Which model is the best at the moment, for this kind of stuff, in your experience?
Just used terra ultra for exactly one prompt in codex and it ate through my full 5h window in about 10mns (20$ plan). The results look pretty good though. Luckily I have had my chatGPT subscription for a while and have a bunch of resets available (nice compared to anthropic).
Assuming I take the 5x plan it would give me about an hour of active sessions with terra ultra (maybe ultra is not good value regarding tokens?), not even using Sol yet. Does everyone using codex use the 200$ plan?
I normally use the 100$ anthropic plan and barely ever reach the usage limit.
Now I'm wondering if the 84% probability of GPT-5.6 release on polymarket on july 9th is about to drop substantially (in order to release while fable is at extra cost, like everyone seems to anticipate)? If they miss thursday release, does it mean they'll release Sol on next tuesday?
I worked recently on an internal tool to achieve this kind of things, mostly plugging mistral OCR to gemini to extract structured data from documents. We then perform automated diffs too.
There seems to be an insane amount of competition in the "Intelligent Document Processing" market, like for instance parseur, whose founder is often on HN himself.
What do you think sets you apart from competition like :
1) Mistral document AI : depending on the model, it looks way cheaper than yours, OCR model pricing ranges from 0.001 to 0.004 EUR / page and they have structured output wired in the OCR API if needed (things then get fed to one of their LLMs) + EU-based and GDPR ready
2) parseur / rossum / docsumo / nanonets (which is YC 2017) ?
Same for me in France, I'm guessing it depends on a claude-code update that will happen during US office hours
I'm hoping openai releases 5.6 Sol in the meantime (and doesn't make it an addon like anthropic did) so we can leave for codex and have a ~Fable-level model to use
