Well, dri.es is the drupal creator :D
Re:Prompting Claude Opus 5.5 on Monday September 28, 2026 @07:44AM (#49876521)
genuine question: is there an improvement in using platform deepseek com, over openrouter and a third party provider?
This is like this in most of Europe: when in "quotes", it is not the journalist, but the person who said something. For example, Obama said "Yes we can". He did not say yes we can, he said "Yes we can".

It is not about the quotes being verified or unverified. It is about something said by somebody, that you are reporting.

Re:Apple is getting this wrong on Tuesday August 04, 2026 @03:04AM (#49165190)
It feels weird doesn't it? It's because it is. Don't buy the story, we'll see what the court says.

keet.io

Might be too P2P for your taste though.

Re:Cloudflare's new AI traffic options for customers on Sunday July 26, 2026 @08:34AM (#49057498)
What's the alternative? We're stuck, either cloudflare or anubis
Don't fall for the trap. The question isn't how we should technically force age verification on anybody. The question is why they're pushing it onto everyone. I did not consent to this, neither did you.
Re:Apple is about to make Hide My Email useless on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @03:59PM (#48561116)
Apple was generating (something)@icloud.com whenever you used that service. Now, it will use (something)@private.icloud.com instead. So you can ban this subdomain instantly, knowing people will be "hiding" with this service by default.

It's like blocking anondaddy, simplelogin etc but not protonmail.

Re:Mount Proton Drive on Linux using rclone and systemd on Monday December 08, 2025 @02:12AM (#46189318)
The emails were lost as it was rewritten by the bridge hence causing a loss.

You are, once again, confidently incorrect.

Re:I Wasted 8 Years of My Life in Crypto on Monday December 08, 2025 @01:55AM (#46189227)
Yes, it's called an oracle on the blockchain.
Re:I Wasted 8 Years of My Life in Crypto on Monday December 08, 2025 @01:54AM (#46189223)
You are questioning the method when people just see the need.

If you're an engineer, no matter what you say about the method, you know a country at war will make you lose all your savings. Or if you're a foreign citizen in a country that will seize your assets, even "by accident".

It's not a storm in a teacup.

They lost thousands of emails and they treated every customer individually while blocking people from complaining on their subreddit.

Then, it was posted here on HN and they finally decided to stand up and fix their reputation by saying they care and want to do better, after months of silencing the issue as much as possible.

Re:We reduced a container image from 800GB to 2GB on Sunday November 02, 2025 @07:41AM (#45789892)
What if I need cron in my docker container? And ssh? And a text editor? And a monitoring agent? :P

Thankfully LXD is here to serve this need: very lightweight containers for systems, where your app runs in a complete ecosystem, but very light on the ram usage.

Re:Oniux: Kernel-level Tor isolation for any Linux app on Sunday June 01, 2025 @04:34AM (#44149459)
When you have torsocks or torify for everything, you're gonna leave your footprint through tor, whereas something like Tor Browser is designed specifically not to leave any print on the web.

Using tor directly on the kernel level means that your DNS is gonna leak. Your OS telemetry is gonna leak etc.

It's still a good idea but it should be implemented top to bottom and nothing left in between, otherwise you're de-anonymized quickly.

"Signal instantly dismissed my report"

"Telegram, another privacy-focused application, is completely invulnerable to this attack"

"Discord […] citing this as a Cloudflare issue other consumers are also vulnerable to"

"Cloudflare ended up completing patching the bug"

I wish Signal would react differently. I still remember the bubble color controversy when they changed their mind after the backlash and not before. :-)

I'm non american too. They make this news look sad, while him and their companies let thousands of people dying at the hospital because they don't have the means to pay for their surgeries.

They have blood on their hands and americans can't have empathy for these people having the power to let someone live or not.

Re:Access for Infrastructure: SSH on Thursday October 24, 2024 @09:25AM (#41935252)
Same thing with their "serverless" servers where you host everything there.
They're all encrypted by themselves and if you use your own gpg key they will replace it.

They're all encrypted except when you pay more for dedicated smtp.

They're all encrypted except when they give up logs they promised they didn't have.

And so on.

The salary for the CEO of Mozilla is 6.9 million USD (almost 7 million). They fired developers to save money, and put all the money saved into the CEO's salary. I don't see Mozilla getting better anytime soon.

It was already inclusive, through these means, yes. This is the real "écriture inclusive".

I've seen your other contributions on this post and I think I'm done exchanging with you. You nitpicked just the right thing and forgot all about the rest of my comment. Have a nice day, you need some love.

"Mesdames et Messieurs" is inclusive. You've heard that for as long as you can remember.

"Statut : marié(e)" is also inclusive. Check your tax return.

The median "." for example "marié.e" is also inclusive and is probably what you're against. Please hate it right, we all use inclusive, even in English (ladies and gentlemen for example). Being inclusive is good, you're doing it too.

Re:French authorities label Vitamin D as endocrine disruptor on Sunday November 19, 2023 @12:41PM (#38335267)
There is a huge difference between this article and its source here: https://www.anses.fr/fr/content/vitamine-d-chez-l%E2%80%99en...

Basically, in the french ANSES article, they say we should be careful with what we're giving to our children, stop food complements, and use medicines instead.

That's basically it.

Very satisfied with fastmail and migadu.

If I come to your house, destroy your door, steal your mom's dinner for 4 ppl, are we both cheating?

How about we compare with something actually worth comparing for? For example switching channels when there's the ad break, or turning the sound off, etc.

When I download something, I'm not "stealing it". When I block an ad, I'm not stealing either. I didn't remove 10$ from Google's bank account that was there before.

Re:Binance US No Longer Allows USD Withdrawal for Users on Wednesday October 18, 2023 @01:08PM (#37931589)
Yes, thank you for your comment. Altcoins are terrible, NFTs are terrible, it was all a trend and I'm glad it's gone now. Bitcoin is different, always has been, always will be. Bitcoin is the digital gold. In my opinion it's not a currency and will not function like a currency but rather like gold. You don't buy your latte with gold, but you own gold stocks. Same thing with Bitcoin.

It's the safest, oldest, most tested blockchain out there. You can't beat that.

Re:Proof-of-Work Defense for Onion Services on Friday August 25, 2023 @07:57AM (#37260684)
You understood nothing and gave your opinion. Congratulations, tell us more about how offtopic you are?

This proof of work doesn't mean crypto currency, it doesn't mean coins, it doesn't mean buying or selling tokens. It means proof of work. More exactly, having to put your computer at work in order to solve an equation. If you do that, the server lets you in. If you don't, you can't enter.

This is the original proof of work. It's also proof of work when you solve a captcha, it's just a different proof of work, a human, mental one. Here, it's a computer one, meaning in order to access a website a thousand times, you would have to run the proof of work a thousand times, so a thousand times more ressource.

I really wished you gave the article a read, before saying Torproject is a shame. Maybe you are?

Re:Firefox has surpassed Chrome on Speedometer on Tuesday July 18, 2023 @08:48AM (#36771332)
Firefox can render pages faster than Chrome, if it still has a laggy scroll on macOS, I won't be using it.

Every six months, I go back to Firefox for a day or two, only to notice this scroll lag. Every time.

Why not go for immich, and try adding the E2E on top? Immich will encrypt the pictures before sending them on the server, and decrypt them when trying to access them, local thumbnails, etc. That could work?
