Kudos is a start-up innovating in the digital publishing space, focused on helping researchers demonstrate and increase the influence of their work.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team, someone who enjoys working collaboratively, are comfortable learning new things and who will be eager to learn about all aspects of our platform. Each team member works on every part of the system, from the front end, to the back, to managing our infrastructure. Some of the technologies we are using, or are about to use, include JavaScript, Ruby, Go, Kubernetes, MySQL and Elasticsearch, running on AWS and GCP.
Rather than looking for engineers with specific technology skills we'd much rather you can demonstrate the characteristics of a good Software Engineer, with the ability and enthusiasm to learn new things along the way.

> The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) faces unique challenges in open sourcing its code. Unlike most software projects, code written by U.S. Federal government employees typically doesn’t have copyright protections under U.S. and some international laws. This can make it hard to attach an open source license to our code, and our team here at Defense Digital Service wants to find a solution. Read about our journey so far here.

Kudos is a start-up innovating in the digital publishing space. Our vision is a new model of scholarly reputation that accelerates the positive impact of research on global health and happiness, and our part in that is to provide researchers with insights and tools to demonstrate and maximize the influence of their work.
We’re looking for Software Engineers to join our growing team that enjoy working collaboratively and are comfortable learning new things. We currently use Sass, JavaScript, Ruby and Amazon Aurora, running on AWS but are actively exploring other technologies, so any experience in equivalent stacks is still relevant.
We're a small, friendly team with plenty of scope for individuals to make a real impact on the way we work and how we do it.
We've got a lot of ideas about where we want to go, with plenty of scope for innovation in:
• Analysing our data sets
• Scaling our infrastructure
• Producing intelligent recommendations to our users
• Creating a beautiful end user experience
