To “celebrate” this upcoming tax season in the US, I’ve made this script that parses 1099 forms into .csv files, making further processing and calculations more manageable. Hope you find it useful and tax season is not too bad.
I have a bookmarks folder named Coolness, and this project is going into it
Thanks runjake for these resources, looking forward to dive into them as soon as I have script and dependencies ready to package
Thanks solardev, I've managed to get Java out of the stack replacing it with a Python package. Still horrible but not bloated anymore :). Now I'm looking for options to package a Python app, that seems to be way easier, so many new things for me here
Thank you very much, wmf, for clarifying. I am doing some research to replace the Java dependencies with Python exclusively, so I can create a .dmg installer using PyInstaller or similar tool. This appears to be a more straightforward approach
Thanks verdverm, my user's aren't technical at all, they can install a .dmg file in their macs, but nothing beyond that

Hi folks, I'm building a Mac utility to extract and process data from local PDF files. I use Python for crawling PDFs and Java for processing the data. I'd like to be able to share this program with other computers (mostly Macs and a couple with Windows) that don't have Python or Java installed. I've heard Docker might be a solution, but since I've never used it before, I'd like to ask you all...

Some of my friends are artists and creators. Their personal websites are important for them, serving both as a showcase for new work and an archive of past creations. However, these websites often lack the dynamism of social media, which makes them somewhat boring. I've noticed that these friends of mine are reluctant to update their personal websites. They view it as a diversion from their...
I'm planning to add a comments section to this blog, so each post has it's own comments. I'm hesitant about which platform to integrate. Facebook looks complex to setup and Disqus shows adds on their free tier. Any suggestions about comment platforms/integrations would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!!

Thanks mobilio, unfortunately I have a broadcom device :(
Thanks karmakaze!! I have a netgear nighthawk r7000 that has the annoying habit of freezing for a couple of minutes one or twice a day, I've researched online and they say it's a firmware thing, so I thought I might replace it with FreshTomato because they say it's good and open source, I just need stable and reliable home wifi for around 15 devices
Thanks I'll hold my laughs for when the wi fi is back :) :) :)

I'm planning to build a website for some friends, and It will have around 30 images (art and photography, non propietary). I'll write a simple CMS so they can add/remove images, which Image hosting service do you think is best for this task? AWS S3 seems too complicated to setup in the free tier, bbImage looks like an option, any suggestions very much appreciated, thanks!!!
