Re:Ask HN: What do you do with your Raspberry Pi? on Tuesday June 25, 2019 @10:03AM (#20274254)
I installed the Pi-hole ad blocker (https://pi-hole.net/) on a Raspberry Pi Zero, and have it as my DNS server on my home network. It has improved general browsing speed tremendously.

Ask HN: What reliable SMTP service to use for low volume emails (~500 p/m)

I am currently using SendGrid, but the deliverability of messages is around 85%. It seems that if you use their free plan, the IP addresses used are shared between other free users and that opens up the possibility of abuse that affects all other free users. Is there an alternative solution that gives close to 100% deliverability? (paid or free).

Ask HN: What is a modern-day alternative to a Majordomo mailing list?

I have a requirement to set up a private email list for around 20 users. I have a Linode server on which to self-host the software. Many, many years ago, I used to run a Majordomo mailing list, so I am looking for something similar. It needs to be completely email controlled -- e.g. you can subscribe, unsubscribe and post via email. Web interface is not required. Open source preferred.

I can thoroughly recommend reading Atul Gawande's "Checklist Manifesto". The premise, on the face of it, is mundane, but the stories that back up the claims are thoroughly enjoyable to read. http://atulgawande.com/book/the-checklist-manifesto/
