According to the link above they are originally French toilets from 1979 :)

No, if the next one did absolutely nothing, they would be much better
"On Friday, agents dispersed tear gas in the middle of a busy city street. Chicagoans were hit with chemical agents while walking their children home from school. A couple ran from tear gas with a 2-year-old child in their care," Johnson told reporters Monday.
Because money buys power, and a few people with too much power usually ends baldy. Especially when they're unelected.
Who, or what, are you replying to? He is American, it's a blog, and Musk is not really the point..

Also, as a sidenote, why do we keep measuring defence strength on money spent? It's the results that count.

Re:Twelve years of distributed SQLite on Saturday October 24, 2026 @04:32AM (#50219282)
can you query the local rqlite, or do you always have to go to the leader?
Re:Twelve years of distributed SQLite on Saturday October 24, 2026 @04:31AM (#50219277)
I've been looking for a reason to use rqlite, but so far sqlite + litestream have been safe enough (some dataloss acceptable in extreme cases)

My understanding is that rqlite gives you "stored in more than place" guarantees, which is nice if you need it. Much slower than a 1 node db though.

think the key is actually long, it's just a bunch of 0s first.. 0000..4
I think it's more like seeing RED - RED - RED - RED - RED and concluding the roulette is broken
> don't you still want that 5 to 15 percent of time back?

Guess it depends on the downsides.

Also, it's not like the time spent with an llm is zero, so maybe you save 2-7 % (depends on the task, of course)

i use joker.com and gigahost.no for .no
Autoban? I thought they have whitelists of accounts it leaves alone, for this exact reason.

It's possible, of course, but taking anything Meta says at face value is very naive IMO. It's just as possible that they let it be banned and then measured the response, to determine if they continue the ban

Maybe that would have been a totally acceptable outcome?

I wonder what will happen to all the very personal and sensitive data they (probably) have on users?

Not being able to access it might change that.

IMO, the "AI" part of this story is just a distraction.

The real story is going after people for protesting and voicing their opinion. A clear move towards authoritarianism and potentially fascism. Seems like it touches 4 of "The 14 Characteristics of Fascism" : https://ratical.org/ratville/CAH/fasci14chars.html

(1,2,7,12 and maybe 10?)

Yeah, just keep buying the poisonous breakfast serial. It's easy to pick out the brown bits of rat poison /s

Oh come on, I like syntax highlights, but this is not "insufferable". It's just opinions expressed strongly, with probably some tounge-in-cheek

I the short term. Who knows what the damage to the brand will cost them.
So it forces everyone to use more GitHub stuff?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but this means I now need to submit to GitHub Security Advisor to get my security fix out ASAP?

Re:Podman v6.0.0 on Friday July 03, 2026 @05:29AM (#48772908)
If I manage an open source program like this, my job is to write the code and docs, publish it somewhere and maybe make some changes to make it more portable. That's it!

It's the distro's job to package and integrate this software with the rest of the system, to make it easier for their users.

I have 1677 packages installed. I absolutely _do not_ want to go to 1677 places to install or look for the latest version.

Maybe, or maybe they would take this opportunity to gain a lot of power and influence around the world.

Just because you're not paying per token or per month does not mean they are doing it for free.
