Hi everyone! I'm working on Numax, a runtime for distributed apps... I've spent a lot of time on the content, but UI/UX isn't really my thing. If anyone has ideas or feedback on the website :)

I know far too many AI haters myself, and even though I understand many of their concerns, there are many things I really struggle to agree with. I entered the workforce with AI already in my hands, and in my experience, the benefit is enormous. I don’t feel that it has weakened my way of thinking. My mind works very well, and AI often helps me bring my creativity, logic, and ideas to life that would otherwise require much more time to develop.I believe AI is now one of the driving forces of modern industry, and it is not going away. The sooner we accept that, the sooner we can focus on the issue that really matters: how we decide to use it.In the end, it is a tool. It can be used in a mediocre way, by delegating everything to it, or it can amplify what we know how to do, help us create, reason, and push ourselves further. It is also up to the user to decide what kind of relationship they want to have with this tool. And that is exactly why, even though I don’t share all of your concerns about AI, I strongly support your decision to return to the industry and try to build a different way of using it. I think we also need people who are critical of AI but still choose to work with it and contribute to giving it a better direction.

I really like the IR-based approach, it solves something that's always bothered me about shell pipelines: you're forced to think in terms of serializing bytes, even when both ends of the pipe are the same program and could just share memory. Flash makes that optimization explicit and easy to compose with the rest of the pipeline. One question, though: have you run into any issues with the "opportunistic" binary format substitution (the .flatgfa fallback) when scripts are shared across machines where some files have already been converted and others haven't?
Show HN: Numax - a portable runtime for distributed apps

Hi, over the past few months I've been working on this project: Numax is a small Rust runtime that does three things: it runs WebAssembly modules in a sandbox, has a built-in local key-value store, and syncs everything across nodes with CRDTs and gossip. Basically, you write a wasm module, run it on two machines, and they converge (I hope !). It's a decentralized system... I hope someone finds...
