Re:Lunar Terminator Paradox on Monday September 28, 2026 @12:58AM (#49873838)
This article was quite hard to understand, and the author called it "Lunar Terminator Paradox", which does not give too many Google hits.

"Lunar Terminator Illusion" is the thing to search for. This 11-year old Vsauce video did the trick for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2gTSjoEExc

Check around the 5m3s timestamp if in hurry, and not interested in other stuff he discusses.

Re:Show HN: Oodle.ai – $10 per million agent traces on Wednesday July 15, 2026 @02:44AM (#48917098)
disclaimer: I work at Oodle, posting my own perspective here.

Vijay and Kiran have both replied here in good faith. I like the fact that my bosses are nice, kind, and decent people.

I disagree with them about being nice to trolls.

All the past submissions from OP are for content hosted on a specific domain, which now redirects to another one: Surprise surprise! They sell "Telemetry Pipeline for AI-Era Data Volumes". So, a somewhat-competitor!?

OP, thanks for validation. When competitors write drive-by, unsubstantiated, undisclosed comments, that's good news!

Re:Use native context menus on Mac OS on Tuesday May 25, 2021 @02:41PM (#27280604)
1. Disable native context menu (macOS native menus will never support access keys)[1]

2. Go to `about:config` and set `ui.key.menuAccessKey` to a custom value (I have it at 17)[2]

We don't even need a fictional nail-factory example, because an almost-similar real example exists: the Backyard Furnaces of China during the Great Leap Forward [1]

> Pots, pans, and other metal artifacts were requisitioned to supply the "scrap" for the furnaces so that the wildly optimistic production targets could be met.

Also, even within Marathi, at least for the letters ज and च, how you pronounce them depends on the word. You have to know the correct pronunciation beforehand, as it can't really be guessed from the word.

जेजुरी is my favourite example. चिंच is a close second :)

Heads up: he makes really funny claims like "I can make drinking water into poison just by looking at it"

Brainbox (http://www.brainbox-demo.de/home/) is another similar logic simulator. It is open source and the code is well-written.
Ah! Eop's law!
"Is Our Food Becoming Less Nutritious?: Veritasium"[1] is a good short video that puts this into context.

Re:Understanding Bihar’s Super 30 Phenomenon on Tuesday July 30, 2019 @01:20PM (#20566968)
> this is not the way engineering should be taught

Nit: "super 30" is not about teaching engineering. That begins after the said exam.

Which is true in case of India
Re:Spencer Perceval, The Forgotten Prime Minister on Friday June 29, 2018 @12:55AM (#17422509)
can someone with edit privilege edit the title to "British Prime Minister"?

Weird to click on the link just to find out which country they are talking about

Awesome game! The stackequal function is confusing though... Any help or description would've saved a lot of time...
