We have continued to build GhanaHousePlanner https://ghanahouseplanner.com and it is now a construction operating system built for Ghana. The platform currently has 7 entry points covering people starting from house idea to people with an existing house plan and those who are already building and only want to manage their build. We have had usage from local regions and also the diaspora. The team is currently focused on expanding user acquisition and helping users complete their house projects through bringing on board experts like supervisors, architects, tradesmen, land registration and material suppliers, example is Marani (a MEP expert). We are also expanding the French language support so that we can license the platform for usage in other countries in Africa.

Still working on GhanaHousePlanner, we have integrated a robust cost estimator based on geometry of the house generated from the floorplans, this has allowed us to achieve very good results for the estimated cost by factoring in lots of inputs that would have been complex to handle since we generate the plans on the fly.

We are currently expanding the architectural drawings and structural analysis and also export formats. The goal is still to offer everyone in tropical countries the tools to understand their house construction before they go to meet professionals.

Continuing to build GhanaHousePlanner https://ghanahouseplanner.com/, currently focused on enhancing the cost accuracy and constraint solver for the generated house floorplans.
MediaReduce is a SaaS platform that helps e-commerce sellers and brands automate product image processing to meet marketplace requirements for Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, and Google Shopping.

Instead of manual editing or one-off AI tools, MediaReduce provides workflow-based image automation that delivers consistent, professional, and marketplace-ready results at scale.

What MediaReduce does

- Automates product image compliance (dimensions, formats, backgrounds, file size)

- Provides prebuilt workflow templates for Amazon sellers, Shopify merchants, and e-commerce teams

- Enables bulk processing with predictable, repeatable output

- Powers a Shopify App that processes and replaces images directly inside Shopify Admin

- Optimizes images for speed, zoom, and conversion without manual intervention

Why it’s different

Most image tools optimize for “AI magic.” MediaReduce optimizes for consistency, compliance, and scale.

- Deterministic processing (no random results)

- Professional edge refinement and enhancement

- Platform-aware outputs (Amazon, Shopify, Etsy rules)

- Clear free → paid upgrade path for premium workflows

- Built for real production catalogs, not one-off edits

Who it’s for

- Shopify merchants managing growing product catalogs

- Amazon and Etsy sellers tired of image rejections

- Agencies handling multi-store or multi-platform listings

- E-commerce teams that need reliable automation, not manual editing

Core use cases

- Amazon main image compliance

- Shopify speed & zoom optimization

- Product image enhancement for low-quality photos

- Multi-platform export workflows

- Bulk catalog image processing

MediaReduce turns product image preparation into a reliable, automated system — so sellers can focus on selling, not fixing images.

I am building Shopify, Etsy, Amazon and marketplace image compliance platform so that businesses don't switch between tools.

Feedback welcome

Thanks for the feedback. I understand your point of view on revit but this solution is needed since it allows layman to have a good understanding of their house project before they commit. Users will come to you professionals with solid demands and floorplans that helps both parties converge on a professional solution without too much iteration.

Exactly, he even mentioned that it's a variant of traditional optimization tool so it's not surprising to see cutting-plane methods and when the structure allows; benders decomposition
It is MVP, the website is the direction
Interesting and important point. Currently, I am not working with writers, I am first relying on stories from school, childhood, family and from friends in other countries. When I start to work with writers, they will be fully compensated. The current stories are common to anyone who grew up in the Africa especially rural.
Indeed, there are lots of stories that will be incorporated
Good point, the part of the LLM is to allow a user to insert their own context into the stories. For example, an anansi story, could be adapted to use names of people if that will help the user (example parent) give context (to a child).
Noted, I will update it to adapt to the phone background color settings
The first part of the video shows the folktale but the demo video is brief, I didn't noticed the LLM part was prominent. I will make dedicated videos.

Hi HN,I've been working on AfriTales, a flutter based mobile app that brings African folktales into modern stories narrated episodes wrapped in a children and adult friendly UI player. The stories are created to cover north, south, west and east Africa. I think of it as a digital by-the-fire-side.Why AfriTales: Cultural relevance: There is a gap in culturally-rich audio-native storytelling apps...

I am working on MediaReduce https://mediareduce.com/, AI-powered media editing studios for videos, images and documents.

It has gone through several iterations over the last year. It was initially focused on file compression & editing but I have added video & image enhancement, background removal, smart video trim, video subtitles generation, dubbing, watermark removal, cropping, resizing, etc.

I'm continuing to fine-tune the performance and while enhancing my UI skills to polish the studios. I built a desktop version but currently released it for Linux (it's in beta), I plan to hopefully make the desktop version free.

I'm currently working with a few clients and using their feedback as guidance. Let me know your feedback if you use it.

Well done on this! I will keep an eye on the project
