I stopped reading after I saw the bullet point stating Zig doesn't have undefined behavior.
> One database query took longer than expected. That blocked an async task. Which held up the executor.
This only happens if you're using blocking code in the event loop, right? This article seems like an admission of over-engineering from the get go.

I don't believe so. It is however shared on sourcehut.

I'm sure they have multiple data centers in each location. Especially if it's a high traffic interconnect.
I'm failing to see how this could have as much or more utility than a Tacoma. I don't see any mention of towing or payload. Not to mention, the clearance will be limiting for anyone who wants to venture off road at all.
So the caveat is you need to call `spawn_blocking` with synchronous functions. I see.

I don't know much about what an Amish lifestyle entails but I have to imagine their limited or non-existent exposure to modern carcinogens helps as well. I think of all the awful things I've been around only to learn later it could adversely affect my health.
Where would one even start learning more about front-end development in today's world? Ignoring the dizzying amount of frameworks, how could I become knowledgeable enough to connect my back-end experience to design the "full stack?"
I would love to see a blog post or more detail about how this implementation works and why it can beat rayon in some cases.
I don't think $150 is out of the question over twenty years ago with roommates and a LCOL region.

As far as I know, bucket names must be unique at other providers like AWS as well. [0]
I'm no expert but to try and protect my own domain, I use a transform rule to match a subdomain and append "/file/$MY_BUCKET_NAME" to each request. This should return a 404 for anybody who tries to inject their own bucket in the path. I could be wrong of course.

We all know about the massive online retailers but where do you go to find what you need?I recently used https://www.geartrade.com/ and https://www.thriftbooks.com/ and it sparked a little obsession into finding deals on other items.
I think it's more of a societal shift than just purely on HN. I know there's no way for me to read every link submitted here but I don't see nearly as many technical articles. I miss the days of companies openly blogging about tough problems they solved or new OSS. There is a seemingly endless amount of articles around cryptocurrency or AI. It's gotten to the point where I don't enjoy coming back to this site.

What an outlandish take. I can't imagine any athlete views injuries as a barometer for how far they pushed themselves. Mental health is not even in the same arena either.
I believe Amazon acquired Ring.
Credit reports are a racket. I've barely had any luck obtaining one of my reports from the site in the past few years. I'm at the point where I think I will freeze my credit.
> “The feedback from my team was a issue with the Ansible playbook that controls the Nginx configuration for our IMAP servers,” Carter said, noting that this incorrect configuration was put in place by a former employee and never caught.
Even if this were true, that is a pathetic response.
I looked at their site and they have a contact number with a 612 area code. That and seeing MSP in the description makes me think twin cities Minnesota.
The book mentioned in this article (Paved Paradise) is eye-opening. I'm nearly done reading it and have a whole new perspective on the matter.
> aws-lc-rs is a cryptographic library using AWS-LC for its cryptographic operations.
Why should I use AWS-LC over the myriad cryptography libraries out there already?

After recently leaving my job, I decided to see if there are any developer roles in meteorology? I know about government organizations like NOAA but it's my understanding that they seek professionals with meteorology degrees. Are there any public or private sector roles that deal with forecasting, modeling, or otherwise? I'm less concerned about pay than I am about finding meaningful work for a...

Who, me? Doubt it. Worst of luck to them!
